These options have little gameplay affect, but you can disable certain visual things you may not like.
Contents
ASAM Sensors
The ASAM Sensor shows you if the plot is powered and provides an activation menu for managing the plot and is visible on the plot’s power post (by default).
Choosing to make a plot ASAM Sensors Hidden (or Visible again) is not an instant update. You will not see the change until the next time each plot is updated or manually refreshed.
Available Settings:
- Options: Visible or Hidden
- Default: Visible
What These Settings Mean:
- Visible: The next time each plot is updated or refreshed, the ASAM sensor will be displayed again.
- Hidden: The next time each plot is updated or refreshed, the ASAM Sensor will be hidden and you can reach the activation menu by pressing Activate on the plot post itself.
Cinematic Wide Shots
To give you a great view of the city, Cinematic Mode begins to pull back for a wider view as the level nears completion. This may cause significant FPS drops for some users.
Available Settings:
- Options: ON or OFF
- Default: ON
What These Settings Mean:
- ON: Cinematic Mode will now show you an expanded view of your city.
- OFF: Cinematic Mode will maintain a tight circuit throughout the city.
City Marker Objects
Various objects used in City Plans are only available to see in Workshop Mode. By default these markers are always hidden.
Available Settings:
- Options: WS Mode or Hidden
- Default: Hidden
What These Settings Mean:
- WS Mode: City marker objects will now be displayed by a representative object while in workshop mode.
- Hidden: City marker objects will now be hidden at all times.
Demolition FX
If you haven't seen it already, whenever you destroy/scrap a Sim Settlements plot or demolish a building/structure that has been (or is being built) on a plot, a little explosion scene/sequence plays out to immersively show the resulting demolition. If you don't like this demolition effect you can turn it off here.
Available Settings:
- Options: ON or OFF
- Default: ON
What These Settings Mean:
- ON: A little explosion scene/sequence plays out when you destroy/scrap a plot.
- OFF: No explosion scene/sequence plays out when you destroy/scrap a plot.
Mailboxes, Etc
When a plot is occupied and not in construction, it will show some sort of visual indicator (e.g. mailboxes on residential plots).
Choosing to make these visual indicators Hidden (or Shown again) is not an instant update. You will not see the change until the next time each plot is updated or manually refreshed.
Available Settings:
- Options: Shown or Hidden
- Default: Shown
What These Settings Mean:
- Shown: Mailboxes, sandwich boards, garden hoes, and time clocks will be used to show when a plot is occupied. Any occupied plots missing their indicators will need to be refreshed to display them.
- Hidden: Mailboxes, sandwich boards, garden hoes, and time clocks will no longer be displayed. In order for this to take effect, you will need to refresh all plots.
