Primary Bug Report If I Had a Hammer - Quest fails to update after completing quest objectives

If I had a hammer has its first two component parts completed, but I didn't receive another stage and the quest didn't complete. There is a bug, but is it that the quest should have finished or is it that a new stage should have started?
 
I got him to unstick by fast traveling away and back to get him to run up to and stick by me then clicking the ASAM and changing the blueprint, letting the new one finish building then talking to him
 
I'm having this issue with the martial, commercial & recreational plots. I think I messed up when I put down several plots in succession instead of waiting for Jake.
That one bugged for me too. It seems like it's easier to just choose the option to skip him showing those to you to get past that part for now. You'll still get all the unlocks, just will miss out on some (not very useful if you've played SS1) information.
 
i got all of the requirements done to finish the quest but it seems it just won't progress the last requirement has a check mark but it does say [9/8], I'm stumped please help if you can thanks
 
Did you guys use the hotfix version? I just a few more housing settlements and waited and the quest finally progressed. Still really buggy tho I agree.
 
I has this problem yesterday, at the end of a play session, Logged in this morning after updating and adding a new pack, still had the same problem so reloaded an earlier save to where the quest is "Greet the new comers" talked to them, then built a new Argi plot and some house's for them then the conversation between Old Paul and what's her name (Lily just looked) kicked in. I know this might ne off no help, but going back to that point helped me.

Also I can not find the quest when I do SQT command other missions are there from SS2 but not this one.
 
I am having the same issue in my game, quests says 8/8 plots built for both and I have greeted the newcomers. All three objectives have checkmarks but quest wont progress.
Exactly the same issue here.

Anyone know if there's something we can type in the console to force the quest to progress?

I cant find any information about what these symbols mean. Can anyone help me?
Also after finishing building the industrial plot i dont know what else to do with the quest, stalking to Stranger doesnt do anything, he just follows me witzhin my settlement.

The red icon is the plot type (residential) the 1 next to it is the plot level and the green person icon means you have a person assigned to it. Hope that helps.
 
I'm having this same issue. Additionally, I never had to go to Concord to meet The Stranger. As soon as I got that quest, he walked/warped into Sanctuary and we started speaking. Old Paul came right behind him and now I'm stuck. I don't know how far back I'd have to go to reload, so my save is effectively screwed.

Update: I used console commands to restart the quest back at the first objective.

That did the trick for me. I was able to go to Concord and talk to The Stranger properly this time, Paul came up and the quest progressed properly.

I'm currently on the IIHAH quest but it will not progress, I've built the 8/8 residential and agricultural/commercial plots and spoke to the new settlers but nothing happens.
also, all of my plots except for the ones built by 'Stranger' are stuck at level 0 and refuse to build, I don't get any scaffolding animations even when the stranger was building and my House and Agriculture plots don't seem to be counting towards my settlements beds or food.

I did have to use commands to get past the agricultural quest bug and have just recently updated to the latest patch and I don't have realistic build times on.
