Mechant inventories empty and can't equip my settlers with armor/weapons

Hi, I have a few questions that I would really appreciate some help with. I have a number of (what I percieve to be) bugs regarding my merchants in my settlement. First of all, some of my merchants won't at all open the trade window when I press E, even though they are labeled with different vendor name tags. Problem number two is that I am having serious issues reassigning my settlers to different stores. For example, I made one settler go from being a clothes merchant to a nurse, and she still sells clothes... even though she is labeled nurse. Problem number 3 is that despite selling the wrong merchandise, that settler is still one of a few who actually sells anything at all. There are several merchants that will open a trade window with me but will have completely empty inventories or only a pipe gun and a couple of bullets. Problem number 4 is that some settlers refuse to be assigned to a store at all, no matter how many times I tell them to.

To sum it up, out of my 6 merchant settlers; 2 refuses to trade or interact in any way, 3 has empty inventories, 1 sells the wrong items. As far as I can tell, most of my stores have upgraded to level 3. Does anyone know why this is? Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Solutions?

My second set of questions are regarding equipping your settlers. Are you not supposed to be able to do that with this mod anymore? To specify, im talking about opening your settlers inventory to trade and equip them with armor and weapons. It is quite boring to not be able to equip your basic settlers with better equipment and arms. Is this a bug or a feature? Equipping the settlers via console commands doesnt seem to work either, as they revert back to their original outfit after awhile. Help with this matter would be much appreciated!

I can’t help on the first issue, I’m not sure what could cause that. Just for kicks, who are those settlers? Companions? Basic settlers? SS2 created characters?

As for the second issue, yep, that’s a bug. I equipped people in my games without issues. I don’t know what could cause this but it’s clearly an issue.

They are both ss2 created settlers and generic ones, and I can't identify a pattern when it comes to which of them has which problem.

So, in other words, you are still able (with ss2 installed) to press e on your settlers and have them open their iventory for you? With ss2 installed I cannot do that, but if I uninstall it I can...

I am having a similar issue that I posted in a thread called, "Production plots and shop plots cross settlements". Even though that was my first question about cross settlements, it has turned out that no matter what production/shop combo I have, my vendors also have nothing but .38 ammo, one other item, and 8 caps.

Yeah that sounds very similar to one of my problems. Should you find out a way to solve it, let me know :)

SS2 Change something in the Settlements and Settler behaviour but only for SS2 Settlers and Vanilla Settlers with all Settlers that i get from other Mods all work fine.Even Mods like Get out of my way and Quick Trade work only with Settlers and Companions that was added from others Mods.

1. Make sure the vendor is being visited between 7am and 7pm? Store is closed all other hours. Another reason why I play with Darker Nights, so I know it is actually night.

2. Store have a refresh rate (48hours to a week) based upon your industry, commerce, and such. This can be turned off.

3. Do not just run into the settlement and right up to the shop, allow your scripting to catch up. Depending on the size of the settlement and how many refreshes you have it can be a while before the scripting updates for the vendor.

Not really i have Vendors that i can kick out in the middle of the night from there Bed and they open the Shop.Something is wrong as even you want to talk only to them they open the shop. And many Ex Vendors have a shop even they change Work and you talk with them after 6 weeks ingame.

So you use an example of a bunch of broken scripts to claim I am wrong. Whatever.

Its not any simple mistake such as this, but I appreciate the effort to sort it out. The bugs which I detailed above are still present, and I have done many hours of troubleshooting without coming up with any leads. I cant swear that every bug is due to SS2 but atleast some of them goes away if I start up a save without SS2 active. I should perhaps also say that I have tried starting new settlements, new saves etc and the problem persists. I have also played with a mod profile with very few mods installed, and the problem is still there :/

Well, I was excited for a moment when I went back to Starlight and my furniture vendor had furniture in inventory. I didn't buy anything as I hadn't built my player home yet, but a game day later I had it built to go buy furniture, and his inventory went back to .38 ammo and some random item.
