Why build a Sim Settlements Mod List?

As members of the City Plan contest team Kinggath, UitUit and I needed a way to quickly setup a Sim Settlements Fallout 4 profile that would enable us to see all of the add-ons available in Sim Settlements that City Plan makers used. As I had built a spreadsheet for this very purpose it was relatively straight forward converting it into a fully operational battle station......err....I meant mod list.

There are now hundreds of addon plots out there now and as you can see from this mod list nearly 50 mods required to make for a total Sim Settlements Experience! I love to have ALL the options at my disposal when playing and I have talked to many other players and mod authors that do too.

Also the fact that mod list’s seem to be a bit of a hot topic at the moment and people on the forum have started asking about a modlist to handle all of the add-on packs it felt timely.

I have built many many profiles and broken many many games in my time and I always want to share my knowledge and experience of mod list building and optimization. Being a beta tester and then on the Sim Settlements Support Team I needed a robust mod list that i could confidently use to test City Plans reliably.

What this mod list is.

SSEM is a list of Sim Settlement Related mods that will give you a rich and varied playthrough with the totally awesome community add-on packs and content available for Sim Settlements. The list has been curated and will be supported by the Sim Settlements community as we all wish to make it as easy as possible for people to play Sim Settlements.

It currently does not include Conqueror yet. That is next on my list of things to do. I may do a seperate mod list for Conqueror once I figure out the best approach to take.

You can choose to build the mod list by yourself using the tools your parents gave you (unless your a synth of course) or alternatively if you are a Nexus Premium subscriber you can avail yourself of the modlist through the wonders of the Wabbajack mod list automation tool which sets this modlist up and a standalone Mod Organiser 2 instance that won't mess with your other mods / mod managers / Fallout 4 Data Directory.

What this is not!
It's not a evil mod pack that is going to steal mod author's Intellectual property and creations and make tons of caps in the process. Any download points received from this mod will either go to Sim Settlements community prizes and efforts or be donated to charity.

It also does not contain any texture packs, weapon or armour mods, physical augmentation enhancements or eye candy optimizations! There are a number of other mod packs out there that do that.

Option 1 - D.I.Y Mod List. (Old Skool)

Installation.

Like most good projects this started off as a spreadsheet which you can see here -> SirLach's Sim Settlement's Experience Mod List Spreadsheet

For those of you not spreadsheet inclined here is a step by step list of instructions for how to get all DaVinci on crafting this experience.

Prerequisites.
1. A working Installation of Fallout 4.
2. All of the DLC.
3. A Mod Manager. (This has been tested on Both Vortex and Mod Organiser 2 (MO2).
4. Fallout 4 Script Extender.

I would highly recommend that you setup a profile within your Mod Manager to install these mods into.

Also as Mod authors are powered by endorsements and likes please click that endorse button for each of these mods so that they are encouraged to make more!

Install the mods in the order listed here. Once they are all installed then I would recommend using your Mod Managers "Sort" Function or use Loot after all the mods have been installed to correct the load order. We have not encountered any issues in many hundreds of hours of play testing.

Core Mods
1. F4SE - I mentioned it in the prerequisites but I wanted to make sure.
2. xSE PluginPreloader F4 - needed for number 3.
3. PrivateProfileRedirector F4 - Faster game start (INI file cacher) - Speeds up game load.
4. Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch - Fixes dem bugs.
5. Settlement Menu Manager - Keeping your Settlement Menu's safe since 2017!
6. Faster Workshop (Workshop Lag Fix) - The mother of all time savers.
7. Place Everywhere - A must have when battling with shrubs and inconvenient rocks.
8. Workshop Framework - Kinggath's must have framework.
9. Workshop Plus - Amazingly powerful features for any one who needs to do allot of settlement building.
10. Raze My Settlement - For when you just can't bear the thought of scrapping sanctuary again!
11. Transfer Settlements - Shareable Settlement Blueprints - CDante's amazing tool for backing up your settlements.
12. Better Console - F4SE - A better console experience.
13. HUDFramework - Needed for all the Sim Settlements HUD goodness.
14. Mod Configuration Menu - Easily access Sim Settlements configuration settings from the main menu.
15. Sim Settlements 3 in 1 - Base Sim Settlements plus the Rise of the Commonwealth and Industrial Revolution Expansion Packs.
17. Sim Settlements - City Plan Contest Mod - If you think you have the chops or just want to have some fun come and join in the monthly CP contest.
18. Sim Settlements - City Plan Pack - Contest Entries - Tons of high quality battle tested community developed City Plans.
