thought: would it be problematic to run the game up to the point where i get jakes quests started and THEN install the addon packs? just to see if it breaks down at that point?
update: immediately got "failed startup of sim settlements 2" warning and "save file resurrection" message after installing pra's random addon 2.
tried attaching save file for reference but forums wont accept file extension.
update: removed/uninstalled ALL addon packs. only starting up with core and suggested mods, and didnt get "failed startup of sim settlements 2" warning. will install one addon pack at a time and see where the breakdowns start
this all started as i decided to restart fo4 with more of an eye towards not overloading sanctuary with settlers and crashing my game with too many unique and interesting settlers in one place. upon startup i got the dreaded "failed startup of sim settlements 2" followed by the save file...
i was wondering about the tax collector thing myself. jake mentions it briefly during one of the plot demonstration quests but i havent seen anything about it yet
im thinking i can probably manage about 20 settlers at sanctuary without any risk. that will be my target for this next restart. having 41 settlers all having their cult meeting behind the workshop house in sanctuary and firing off their chatter simultaneously was also becoming a bit of a...
Ok. Just a heads up for the community. I have a pretty decent rig. I had myself convinced I could put allllll the special name settlers from SS2 as well as Settlers of the commonwealth in Sanctuary so all the fun dialogue would be there and available. After maxing the build limit, expanding...
im experiencing some issues in certain settlements where not all building plans are available, such as industrial. with residential plots its only giving me the random option. specifically starlight drive in
took the quest to find information for 'the ron'. tracked down the location, found the container with the holotape. holotape was labelled as "holotape name." picking up item didnt result in quest progression. playing holotape produced no information or further results. quest appears to be...
was able to complete the quest to get cola to old paul, but now cola just stays in one place, and its way outside sanctuary's normal boundaries. cant interact or get her to move. she doesnt follow paul at all or move at all. anyone else experiencing this?
Would this method work with other types of generators? I'd really like to find a way to make the water wheels from woodys wasteland stuff not cost maintenance.
If so where can I find a detailed tutorial?
I'm finding that when choosing a building plan for a plot the wrong plot is often built instead of the one selected. I've discovered sometimes that selecting the plot above of below the one i want SOMETIMES results in the desired plot, but not always.
well it falls under the industrial category... so i guess we'll just watch and see :)
on a related note...
if i donate supplies in the form of food or water to, say, my primary settlement, sanctuary, will the logistics shack redirect those donations to other settlements that could use it?
the clean and simple series does flatten the terrain quite a bit. this makes it awesome for plot planning using sim settlements but probably not so compatible with city plans. the good part though is with the completed all in one mod you can choose which settlements to install and which to...
on the subject of settler sandboxing. i used the settler sandbox expansion, and it seemed to have the unintended side effect of having a lot of my settlers not manning their posts. specifically martial plots. every once in awhile i would catch them at their station, but the expanded radius...
