Sim Settlements Three in One

Ok, so my suggestion for Mods :)

Scrap Everything or Similar mods - Do Not Touch - They make you do evil things :shedevil
Performance Enhancers - hmm, often or not they are De- Performance Enhancers, if your game works well, leave them alone
Body Enhancers, look mods etc like CBBE - God yes, mines girls got 44DD at the moment, who needs a gun when you can kill with them.

Settlement Keywords, HUD Framework and a lot of other stuff (helping so far?) :)

Avoid very old mods if possible, not saying they will cause a problem but they might. Also, often programmers do reworks of an older mod, so check first.

LOOT: Find link in our help page below. If helps you organise MOd Load Orders

NMM: link on page too, make sure your up to 0.65.6 not the version listed on Nexus Mods which is 0.65.2

I think mods are limited to 255 without a work around, dont go close to that, I have pushed 155 and although my workshop menu is fine (everything shows up in it) it kinds of loads a little slow, dam ok about 8 seconds lol.

Also and this is a must and when I mean a must, its a MUST, build yourself a SS Furniture store, forget the name of it (sorry), but now I sit in Sunshine Tidings, overloooking the commonwealth on my toilet Throne, naked of course. :bad

when it comes to modding, take your time to read about a mod first, even pop over the the bugs section and have a quick look, ok for something that say changes sokething minor, not a problem, but for bigger mods, its worth checking before then breaking your game after.

Oh and if you see me on my throne when passing one day, give us a wave :blush

Just noticed that, try NMM 0.65.6, but then I manually installed SS, ROTC and IR manually and the others with NMM, worked for me

Thanks again to all of you for your indispensable advice! In my Reading and re-reading I realized there was a bit of clarity i was looking for. You said to "build yourself a SS furniture store."
Is that built from scratch or a mod to be Dl'd?

furniture store is in the 3 in 1 and ROTC.
I will be adding one in my next update and im sure others will add one to ;)

Ohh ok gotcha.( Note to self) Build a Furniture Store.
Well after a ton of reading, and 3 days of curating mods, setting em up and finally running Loot, all done AFTER playing Preston's first mission and getting the Minute Man & Loud Mouth a** Marcy Long and the "homeless ones" to Sanctuary. I've got my Clean Save files Manually backed up just cuz...I'm now about to fire it up in the Modtastic world of FO4 PC.....

*In the words of Lil' Wayne"*
"I'm GOING IN! I'm GOING IN!!!"

Just finished testing and tightening up my first Mod run on PC! The last thing I did was to activate the City mgr holotape. There was a slight discrepancy with a CTD about an hr or so before that though. I'm thinking it was something in conflict with the Mod Config Menu because it was acting very screwy when I tried to access it...It wouldn't respond properly and to access any other subcategory within the mod, I quite literally had to back out of the current sub-category and exit the whole menu. I know the description said "no conflicts" So I have to test further tomorrow. I don't wanna give a Good Mod a Bad rap. I can't wait to start building my settlement with the SS pack and add-ons.

Ohh, and a Marcy settlement??
Nah Man I'm all good on that....... I'll pass. LoL.:bad

ALL your advice up to THAT very point was AWESOME. However, I'd more than willingly gouge my own eardrums out with an electrified fork powered by the purposely cut cord from my PC rather than entertaining even, the most fleeting thought of subjecting myself to an ENTIRE settlement of her ANGRY ungrateful and unyielding mouth spew!! :suicide2

:jester

I don't use MCM so I have no idea about that :(

I have MCM installed but I don't use it, its just there, lol. I installed it as a test to see if any conflict and just forgot, however so far, no issue, well for me anyway.

As for Marcy, see is adorable, she is an adult reflection on the youth of today, :)

That part^^^^^^Ohh so much THAT!!!!!
Well at least the ones with the gimme gimme gimme mindset...

**"Soooo what type of good Stuff are you gonna break your back building for me, so I can have more places available for me to sulk and complain?"**

I'm like last I checked, all you did today was wake up and pull a few weeds.....What i DID do for you though is, I got you a bigger rake and a personal PLOT with a taxi cab home on the FAAAAAAAR side of the settlement....Ohh and a crab net too, There may be mirelurks there...

what u don't like marcy?
you need to build my MARCY plot

@uituit
What mod did you use to Replicate Loud Mouth A** Marcy Long?
I currently have "workshop synth production" I haven't used it though I thought it might be good to use to "Fast Populate" Sanctuary.. You know, just to get settlers residing there Quickly...

@GA_Darkerside you said "don't touch " Scrap everything because it makes you do "evil things" Is it gonna ruin my save or just foul up immersion? I was thinking I'd test it in Sanctuary just to get rid of all the useless clutter then simply disable it. I'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but on console saves, my Sanctuary settlement was always my "main HQ", the place that had the most well-worked items and attention to detail etc. (also the place that I first tested my build from scratch skills) so that said, a clean slate with an open space to go H.A.M (Hard as a M*thaFu&Ka) on perfection is a must for me there. Bearing in mind that this is coming from someone who hasn't yet had the opportunity to test out all the AMAZING and wild settlement spaces Authors upload due to my now BROKEN console constraints... Advice?

hehe MARCY was something I did with the Creation Kit
I just made her spawn 15 times ;)
just one of my joke plots :jester

Ive used workshop synth production before but it didn't work for me :( I ended up getting rad roaches, it works for many though.

Yea I also read about that yesterday... Not a good result for sure...

One of the Caveats was in fact that it "sometimes " spawns Rad roaches with Settler names and you cant fix it unless you use a patch I think... Is that the issue you are referring to?

Honestly, I can live without that mod. However, I am also curious to see just how fast it works(SS) on its own, without a mod mass producing people. But it DEFINITELY seemed like a worthy addon..(just in case) But again my goal is to have a Load order of mods which works FOR SURE, and then to ONLY add what I want as it pops up on the Nexus and Bethnet... My method has never been to just go all willy-nilly grabbing EVERY mod I see, but rather to get EXACTLY what works and does what I want it to WITHOUT much fuss. Ultimately, not really having much interest in much else UNLESS it makes my brain explode when I see the screenshots and videos...

I'm gonna Load in now. I'll check back for replies...

1) Disable the MCM
2) Build a furniture store.
3) RE-explore!!!!!

I try and go for quest mods
fusion city rising is cool (but some have reported problems with it and ss )
Neehers mods are cool to

@SavageRock
@GA_Darkerside you said "don't touch " Scrap everything because it makes you do "evil things" ............................
Please note, I am not saying the mod is bad, nor am I saying it's poor, but what I am saying is, we, the human race are. Scrap everything and mods like this, of course allow us to remove most things, but some things were never ment to be removed, otherwise maybe Bethesda may have let us. I sort of get the need to removed debris, but then again as a Lore fan, I also don't. If Fallout 4 was real and if you faced the things those settlers faced, day in, day out, added to the lack of real world tools, hmmmm, I am not sure anyone would really care about the rubbish? .

The problem is, somethings in the game were not ment to be removed as I said above and for various reasons can/will break the game.

I was thinking I'd test it in Sanctuary just to get rid of all the useless clutter then simply disable it

Bad Bad and even worse idea, Scrap Everything is not that kind of mod, once installed, never disable/remove it, I am sure others with strongly agree and this can cause serious issues. I have suggested disabling it in the past for test purposes but under strick guidelines.

What you also have to understand is the kind of game Fallout 4 is, this is not a Singular Story Mode Game, as in, Complete Quest 1 leads you to quest 2 and so on, its a "do what the hell you want game", therefore Quest 1 - 10, 10 - 32, 32 - 2 , so when you break something, it might not show up till a lot later. Sanctuary (Bugged in Vanilla) is the first place you visit and the first place you get carried away with "Making it your own", so you can also, easily get carried aways with Breaking it on your own too :)

[QUOTEdue to my now BROKEN console constraints... Advice?][/QUOTE]

Need more detail on this, but head over to the Help Page below, there is a section for Xbox, It does say how to reset your 2Gb space for mods and remove Ghost spacing, if you didn't already know how to do that.

Awesome thorough answer!! Thx @GA_Darkerside

1) Agreed, the info you shared regarding scrap everything was some of what i had read also. The gist of the passage basically said that scrapping some things could actually expose gaps in the code or the scenery that Bethesda for whatever reason chose instead of fixing simply placed an "un-scrappable" thing there to cover it up. I definitely don't want to tear something up that will affect my whole game experience for the worst right outta the gate. Because I'm a sloooow moving test it out kinda guy I'm definitely of the disable and investigate school of thought. But I also don't think its worth it to break something irreparably. Place any/everywhere would be a good one to use in my settlement building also. But for some reason, I cant get it to work properly even though I have the matching version of FO4 the F4SE call for. (I keep getting the newer version unsupported error)

2) When I said "Broken console constraints" I Meant that the un-noteworthy 2gb of mod space allotted to console users is now a thing of the past for me since I moved to PC. I had read on the tutorials back in the day about clearing up ghost space and luckily never had to implement it. But thank you for the advice and the link to the help page, just in case. But I doubt ill be going back anyway (to console for FO)

3) @uituit Thank you for the suggestion I'm going to search that author out right now I actually remember that name from back in the days so I know for me to remember that name there must have been something really good about something I Dl'd from them.

I also need to find a way to reliably increase the build limits. I did find the "ignore build limits setting in SS, but I think it doesn't change them, it just ignores them as the title says and as i remember reading earlier this week on one of the forums for SS.
I don't plan on going TOO CRAZY where my FPS goes way down but just enough to make Sanctuary into the wasteland metropolis that I want it to be. ( I built it into a compound on the console with concrete walls all the way around it with several guard posts/stations equipped with nice heavy defenses.
I did find the SS plan for a "Basically Diamond City" Layout maybe that has a bigger build limit. But it would be nice to find something other than the dropping my guns glitch or something that's going to conflict with SS.

If you are going to be using SS anyway, the holotape or planning desk console both offer access to a tool which will allow you to increase the build size by 25% each time you use it. I'm not in front of my gaming PC at the moment, but I know it is under Tools.

I may have overlooked that somehow. I thought the limit of SS was to simply ignore but not alter the limits. ill check back as soon as I load in. Thank You!
