  • Tried to eliminate the possibility that it was just some random enemies with Fatmans by using KillAll at the settlement itself & also at the nearby locations with enemies like Super Mutants.
  • It seems to be a distance thing as being above or below the protectron also triggered the explosion.
  • Rebuilding Local Data didn't solve the issue
  • Refreshing all Plots did solve it temporarily, I assume because the robots produced by the plot are removed if we do this?
  • Destroying all plots via self destruct didn't solve it, I confirmed it after noticing the robot left behind afterwards and that's when I made screencaps for the image. It seems that destroying the plot or changing the build plan didn't remove the protectron(Possible that it just takes some time though, I didn't really wait much).
  • Killing or Disabling the robot solved the flashing screen nuke effect issue. This combined with it predictably triggering when moving a certain distance away from it, convinced me that the Protectrons made by the RobCo Civil Services plot must be the source of it. When destroyed I can walk up to the robot without triggering the effect. I think before refreshing all plots I may have had a fireman or different type so it may not be specifically the medical protectron only.

Are you using an ENB or something similar?

I doubt I'll be able to solve this one, but I'm curious if it's an interaction issue

As a side note: removing the plot should not remove the protectrons, once created they are no longer tied to the plot at all, they are just normal robotic settlers

Yes but it happened regardless of ENB being enabled or not. I usually always have ENB installed but often have it off. It defaults to off and I enable it with hotkeys

It's been a while but I think effect still happened even when I swapped out plot.
