Solved (Potential Spoilers) Institute signal in Adv. Weapons Quest

There might be some spoilers in here if anybody reading this hasn't embarked on the quest.

I'm working my way through the Advanced Weapons quest where I'm now tasked with collecting energy signatures. Cue is complaining about the Institute, creating a great big clue there. Unfortunately, I've already melted the Institute into a crater in the Charles.

So I did a little research and saw the Military Salvage plot can produce or lead to a Defective Institute Beacon that can be used for the energy signature quest. I have a Military Salvage plot, but I'm not finding a beacon, and I'm not sure if I'm looking in the wrong places or what. Could someone point me in the right direction?
