Patch 2.2.0 - HQ 2.0 is now live!

I encountered a small bug today. I assigned Codsworth as the leader of Sunshine (he was in Sanctuary unassigned at the time). Some time later I noticed him flying around in Sanctuary. I scanned him with the Vitomatic and he came back as homeless at Sanctuary. I then fast traveled to Sunshine and verified he was still the leader of Sunshine. Next time I saw Codsworth in Sanctuary I sent him to Sunshine and when I went there I had to reassign him as leader. The Codsworth flags flew at Sunshine the entire time

Codsworth is extremely unreliable, even in the vanilla game (never sticks to his job, etc.). But in my last game I hit a similar issue with Sturges, who came to work at HQ, but a while later I bumped into him on the road, miles away, clearly headed for Sanctuary. (Seems those first few characters just love the old place and can't keep away.) I'm trying again with my new, low-mod game to see if the same thing happens.

He might be a bit more reliable if you recruit him as a companion first then dismiss to Sanctuary or anywhere else (as long as you pick the location yourself and it doesn't default), but yeah.

Later on this afternoon I was in Home Plate, I use Aloots mod, the new version, and when I was leaving there was a settler. I was like wtf? so I pulled out the Vitomatic and they were a Tenpines settler but they followed me out and I assume headed back to Tenpines. I also encountered a hard CTD from a settler radiant quest, as soon as the settler said the words for the quest. I figured out by the second time they were directing me to clear college square so the third time I went and cleared the location first and when he gave the quest "it just worked". My feeling is this likely has nothing to do with SS2 and is likely a keep radiants in the commonwealth and the new unofficial patch since I know a mod is used to make them compatible but it hasnt received an update lately.

Antoine I had used Codsworth as a companion but I only made it to his first dialogue before dismissing him back to Sanctuary as I know he is always flaky when it comes to workshop assignments. He twice assigned and unassigned himself from plots during the time before and after. I figured maybe locking him to the workshop as a mayor might be a work around so I made him the mayor of Sunshine as a replacement for Professor Goodfeels.

Im gearing up for the raid on GNN once thats done I will do the rounds on my settlements and see if everything is making sense. I am using RoTC city plans and they seem to be progressing well on their own, happiness is up. Last time I used the SS2 basic plans to aid in making my way through the entire chapter 2 as it was a city plan upgrade that had stopped me on the prior attempt.

Myself and several others are encountering what we think is a bug. After starting up HQ, we can't start any projects. We don't get the option in Command Mode to do any projects. We only have the HQ tab with View HQ Layout and View Active Projects being the only two options we have available. We detail our problems and steps to replicate the issue in this thread.
I am having this same issue. I noticed that something went wrong when the HQ tutorial started and completed in about 15 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: I just loaded an early save where Jake asks me to come back to the Plaza. When I got there a message popped up that said "Grease needs a desk to be leader of GNN..."
I never made Grease the leader nor do I even know who Grease is.

well that's odd, Grease is a ghoul from Settlers of the Commonwealth who doesn't mind dirty work. I'm assuming you recruited him at some point in Goodneighbor. But a desk in GNN?..

Hey, I just updated and was taking a look around GNN to see what changed. I had some issues that were reportedly dealt with (duplicate items in basement bathroom; no wall in main floor locker room; and walls not repairing properly) but I'm having issues with the HQ employees re-equipping themselves. Prior to this patch I had personally equipped each settlers I sent to the HQ, excluding unique settlers, so they looked like they fit the role they were assigned to. Now they're all re-equipping themselves and look like they're wearing assigned uniforms, which I guess they are.

I went into the City Manager 2078 Holotape and there's nothing about HQ Departments equipping HQ employees. There is a section about disasters and one about mission assignments but nothing about this. What's more, some of the settlers appear to be deleting their previous equipment in favour of this new stuff. I'd be fine if they were just replacing it and I could re-equip their old stuff but that doesn't seem to be the case with some. Some it is, but some their inventories are basically empty (except ammo). Honestly, I like the look of the new uniforms so I'd totally use it...but not in each case and I want a say in it. Thanks in advance!

I don't remember recruiting a ghoul in Goodneighbor but doesn't mean it didn't happen. Did he have a quest or just need a place to work? I tend to forget or don't pay attention to the names of many of the settlers I recruit. If I did recruit him it was long ago and I couldn't have assigned him to GNN as I hadn't been there yet. So, yeah, very odd. Also, it seems I am getting some script lag and lots of CTDs. I think I will just start a new game as this one was started before the recent betas. Cheers!

Just a place to work. And I swear someone was reporting an issue with city plan desk where it shouldn't ask for it but definitely not GNN. Even though it has like 6 desks so maybe the guy really wants to be a gunner chief or something.
Another thing "I swear there was" is an option to keep your outfits for GNN but can't check rn. Normally they all change into departments outfits I think?

Did you ever work out a solution?
Nope.
I tried to load pre-update save multiple times and the result is always the same - right after I get a clipboard, I go to a settlement and the recruitment works as it supposed to. After that, if I go to another settlement - it stops working, settlers just remain assigned to their settlement and don't go anywhere.
Pretty weird.
Also, since the update, after some time of playing, game starts to hang for a second once per couple of minutes and occasionally CTDs. Game also now takes longer to save.

This sounds like script lag to me. It gets me on almost every play through that I do multiple updates on.

At the top of the page I mentioned a problem with Codsworth, He has since remained at Sunshine and everything about that seems normal. I am however seeing some other weird things. This playthrough the only settlement Ive built is Sanctuary all the others are city plans from RoTC. Sanctuary settlers ie. Katherine Drake decided she would rather be a farmer then a scrap collector while I was away getting scrap for her. The settlers seem to be moving around jobs almost every time I visit. The other problem Im seeing is plots that say theyre operational that havent built, refreshing them wont build them either so I have to change building plan and start from level 1. Ive also got the HQ fires that wont go out and the bugs from a previous infestation that seem to be sticking around longer then expected. Ive also had more then a couple CTD including a repeatable one if I touch any of the wiring at the Castle which is all broken anyway, I cant attach any wires to existing connection points from the original Castle. It crashed trying to fix the wiring to the water purifier tried. Then I tried running the wires from the city desk and it CTD again, I tried to refresh city plan PC froze so I just leave it alone now in hopes the level 3 city plan will fix something.

Im giving up on that playthrough. Its not even the bugs Ive run into so much as how poorly I was doing with the settlements. I used RoTC plans and theyre too full and too light on resource production. I think I am going to have to put the time in and build them out properly myself instead of blasting my way through the quests to get to HQ quickly because then I get there and Ive got no resources or people to recruit. Now just trying to decide whether to use the beta or not. I think I might as one of the fixes is something I noticed happening during the start up sequence.

Yep. The only thing I've changed is I updated SS2, Chapter 2, Hud Framework and Workshop Framework to their latest patches and now all of a sudden I have saves that last several minutes.

I had an issue after upgrading to this version with performance, bugs and CTDs.
I looked into savefiles with fallrim tools and there was a growing number of "undefined elements" - it has grown up to thousands after a day of playing.
I tried deleting them from the save file and all of the issues were gone and no more undefined elements appeared.
However I think it might have killed the disaster system somehow, because I've been playing for a while now, but no disaster ever happened in HQ.
