Patch 2.0.1 - The Other Side is now live!

i had this on the 2.0.0k hotfix i think you have to get jake downstairs to get this working because he has to interact with the lady and the radio or whatever. think you will have to use the console to move him to you.
Jake is sandboxing now completely unresponsive downstairs. I even tried to tweak the load order if that would help but nothing. No idea what needs to be done. He just does not seem to know he is supposed to do something.

I recall two doors having the sideways issue, but I overwrote the save where I saw them. I do have one screenshot, and I believe the other door was the one for the building where you can climb up the slanted power pole?
So the actual issue with these is the way we handle matching the door to be the same one used in the cell. So I actually need to know both which building on the outside this is happening to, and what cell those sideways doors lead to in order to fix them. I think I figured out which one that is in the world from your screenshot - could you enter that location and get a screenshot of the inside as well?

Basically when I had this I had to move him downstairs and then I waited a couple hours ( use the wait menu not literally wait) and that fixed it for me. So maybe this is something else.

I got lucky and found an old save file. I also did a quick runaround of Concord and found two more sideways doors.

I think I have it fixed, would you mind trying this replacement ba2 file? Just download and extract to your Fallout 4\Data folder to overwrite and load your save. If it worked, within a few seconds of loading the game the objective for "Listen to Strange Signal" should complete.

Note, if you're using a mod manager with profiles or virtual file management, you may need to overwrite the ba2 file wherever it stores those.

Fun fact with those sideway doors: you can change their placement manually in workshop mode. I just start from Red Rocket in workshop mode and disable the time-out (F5 with Place Everywhere), then walk up to the door. I also need to press Insert to enable extra selection.

thanks so much @kinggath ! I tried it but it did not seem to work :(

I totally forgot about that it’s how I fixed the gun for hire door. Guess I blanked on concord since I don’t use red rocket much. Thats super helpful though in case I get there before the patch comes.

Hmm might be some sort of mod conflict at play here then. When I load up your save with just the minimal required for C2 to run it works immediately. Perhaps I packaged that BA2 file wrong then. I guess we'll find out on patch day next week!

it works!

Totally my bad. I overwrote an old version (that I need to clean out). When I double-checked the mod manager storage location, I got the right one and now the quest objective is marked complete.

Time to go to Sanctuary and see what's happening there...

Thanks, again!

Is it possible to make a mod making the SS2 HQ more livable (better floors, walls, roofs, cleaning, etc) without conflicting with SS2 itself?

That all happens as you develop and improve HQ. (Unless you're talking about changing the textures. Not sure about that.)

My first run I had it nearly clean there’s always a few little things that stay dirty cause it’s fallout. But yes follow the quest like and more cleaning options open up allow for fixing and cleaning areas.

Usually something like that means you are missing a file, but I'm not sure how that would happen on Xbox. So more than likely you've got some sort of save file corruption in Sanctuary.

You can try the new tools I added to Workshop Framework to remote reset the location - it will destroy many things at Sanctuary, but should at least end the crashing so you're not locked out of the location. Craft yourself the Workshop Framework Controls at a chemistry workbench, then go to Diamond City and run the Tools > Remote Settlement Recover

Just tried what you said. Did not work and still can’t go to sanctuary. Goes to load screen music stops like it’s about to change then won’t come back on and eventually it just sends me home.

It took us two months, but we got there! On to regularly scheduled patches. Quality of life and new content are now on the table in addition to bug fixes! We're resuming the bi-weekly patch cycle from here, and will still hotfix as necessary if more showstoppers show up that we have a solution to.

Does Jake bring up these new conversations at random?

By the way not sure if this it the right place to comment but I'm really missing Desamona's recreational plots (Downtime!) in SS2. They were really nice in SS1. Seems she gave it to fftfan (SS2 Superstructures) to convert but it's been nearly a year and nothing yet. No idea if he's busy or retired. Those plots are just too good to be left out from SS2.

Pretty sure he’s been adding some of the old ss1 plots but I’m guessing it may just take him a while because each update he does adds a couple plots so it seems like about 1-2 plots each few weeks to a month.
