Yes i have been experiencing this in a few settlements

I am experiencing this now with the Castle. I cannot scrap sleeping bags without crashing and i cannot place a Happy Maker Music Box without crashing to desktop.

Changed my vote, just started getting this today in Sanctuary. If I scrap or store, CTD.
Tried generator and turret, both caused it. Haven't tested any further.

I've found all sorts of exciting ways to crash the game, but not this one.

I am having the exact same problem. CTD when scrapping or placing the Happy Maker Radio.

My early crashes from scrapping generators was resolved when I followed the crash guide on resetting SS. Now since the last 2 updates I ctd when I try to scrap the robotics workbench in Hangman’s Alley. The only difference between the last 2patches is now I am able to fast travel to Hangman’s alley even after the ctd. Before I couldn’t get near it without ctd.

Strangely enough I have only experienced this on RotC settlements. Not settlements I'm managing using SS or IR. I've been trying to improve performance at Red Rocket with some positive results via clutter/omni light removal, and it will randomly lock up the game when scrapping objects. Thankfully with quicksaves I've gotten through it. It seems random though, possibly related to something else entirely, but still only with the settlements modified by RotC. Never with generators.

One bug we ran into that clotheslined everything was a vanilla power grid bug related to TVs that was causing some major issues. KG has worked around it for now by replacing TVs in plots and RotC builds with static versions.

It usually starts with scrapping a recruiting beacon or a generator and spreads to every powered object in the settlement. The issue is something in the televisions corrupts the power grid array in vanilla. I've seen posts on this as far back as the beginning of 2016.

In many cases RotC settlements are the most complex settlements many have ever loaded onto their machines so we're bouncing off limits those players never even knew they had.

I'm still having some issues with placing generators and the happy maker juke box in some settlements. Some settlements its fine and nothing happens and in some the game ctds

Have had this happen on multiple saves, and only after importing an RotC plan. I can scrap stuff I've put down just fine, such as the Robot workbench after building a robot provisioner, but if I'm attempting to clean up the plan, such as in County Crossing, where I'd previously scrapped the existing structures and they hadn't been restored by the city plan, the game would crash. Noted this type of error across multiple characters and multiple settlements. Had the generator crash at the Commonwealth Red Rocket, but it fixed itself after placing a small generator, then the fusion generator that I'd been going for.

Edit: Console commands 'disable' and 'markfordelete' on said objects do NOT cause a CTD, so there's a potential workaround for the time being

I get the scrap crash in all of the settlements. What happens is after any type of city upgrade and the sims have moved any kind of electrical, generator that I connected lines to the lines will still be there floating in mid air and there is no way to scrap or store them. As soon as I select them the game freezes and locks up and boots back to the home screen. I can also not connect any new power lines as the same thing happens when I try to add new power lines. I have tried the Sim Settlements Helper mod addon and it didn't help at all. This is on an Xbox with SS, IR, ROTC.

You *might* be able to save the save by scrapping all with the gavel, but most likely that save is gone. The nasty part of grid corruption is that it spreads until every object in the settlement is impacted.

The even nastier part of this is that this is a vanilla bug, not something we have any control over.

So basically scrap the whole settlement and start over is what you are saying? Also I never had this type of electrical power grid bug before using AS and I am on my 4th play through with a 3rd character.

Anecdotal, and not useful for console users, but the only time I've ever run into this issue--this was when IndRev was just released, and I decided to nuke a vanilla settlement in order use it for IR stuff instead, the crash bug starting to manifest during the process of scrapping vanilla stuff--using the "scrapall" console command in the affected settlement rescued it. 150 hours and 70-something sim plots later, and that settlement remains fine in that save.

This was in Starlight though, which doesn't have anything important that scrapall would remove, so this method isn't guaranteed to not cause issues in some settlements. Indeed, it's guaranteed to cause issues in places like the Castle and Sanctuary, where it'll scrap some quest objects and hidden doors and stuff.

Yes, in Sanctuary, every time i try to scrap an object. Oh, before RotC i have Scrap Everything installed, and now i am playing without it. Btw, I have 192 power in Sanctuary but cant find any generator, city level 0. Sorry for my english.

So far only at Sanctuary but I'm only level 20. Sactuary is level 1 and I placed once trunk that I was storing gear from all the raider attacks. I get the CTD whenever I try to scrap it or try to place anything from the power section. My Red Rocket is built with plots and so far has been fine. I recently started up an abernathy settlement with ROTC so I'll continue this save alternativing between ROTC and plot based settlements to see how it goes.

can you make sure you have the latest RotC Expansion and see if it lets you get close enough to the place to refresh it? (drop a cp desk at the very edge of the settlement and refresh the city blueprint if you can).

Not sure if this will help or not, but I used to encounter this bug on all of my saves. It was entirely random (crash would happen at a different settlement on every save). At different times (sometimes only a couple of RoTC builds in, sometimes at 10 RoTC builds in).

It was killing me that this seemed like such a rare bug for the general SS player base, but it was happening to me ALL THE TIME.

Well, I started a new save without Scrap Everything mod enabled, made sure I changed my ini back to bUseCombinedObjects=1 and (knock on wood) 70 plus hours into this new save, I've gotten the farthest in I have ever gotten with no sign of the scrap crash bug.

Could be just me, who knows, but so far so good.
