Commonwealth Provisional Government

Since this mod is about automated settlement building I think it would be grand to be able to reform the Commonwealth Provisional Government once enough settlements are under your control and you have a good number of settlers. It just makes sense to me that when the commonwealth begins to grow again the settlements would form a government once more and since the Commonwealth Provisional Government had been formed once already but failed due to mistrust with the institute what better figurehead to spearhead this operation once more than the lone survivor who works hard to make the commonwealth a better place, someone that the settlements will actually trust.

This would be a cool idea for a mod but probably out of SS2 reach. Something separate perhaps... Would work well with the player taking over the Institute. Hell, it should be in the base game but like a lot of things, isn't.

I'm still not fully sure what could be implimented. I thought of maybe a few laws/resolutions could be passed. A tax system that could play off of the SS2 tax system, maybe a new building to be the capitol building. More patrols could be hired. Can be lore friendly no matter what side you chose in the end or even choose not to start the CPG at all if you didn't want to. Something like this could be very versatile with the right people to make it. Honestly I am surprised I've seen no mod of the CPG already, or really any government mod.

It's funny, I was going to write up the usual "not really technically feasible within the scope of SS2's mechanics" post, but in the process of wording that, I thought of a way "government" could be mechanically implemented... I think.
The fact that nobody's done it yet isn't a good sign for it actually being doable, though...

All the "military" functionality will be part of "Conqueror" when that eventually gets ported over to run on SS2, though, if that helps.

I think it would be kind of pointless to start developing this kind of mod at this point if the intention is for it to work alongside SS2, if I've been reading the hints right, there are going to be some big changes/additions with Chapter 2 and then there's still going to be Conqueror, which will add things again. Would be a shame if someone put in hours and hours of work only to find out their work will conflict with some yet unseen core mechanic the team implements with, say, Chapter 2.

What would that mean, exactly? In the vanilla game you can become director of the institute and the game world barely reacts to it.
