Approaching Sanctuary causes Crash to Desktop

From what I understand... keeping settler count to Max 15 helps a lot on xbone.
Also turn off visitors... they spawn after you arrive, which cranks up the NPC count. Even though they are not settlers they still have AI that needs to be processed just like the settlers.

I’ll give those a go. I’ve been really fond of visitors and pets even though I know disabling it would help with performance, but it’s the only performance box so to speak I have active. Most of my sims settlements seem content up to 20 settlers even with large numbers of plots.

I should add that I somewhat frequently deal with freezes, LOD and physics engine crashes, as well as the common issues downtown. I’m afraid it’s my “day one” Xbox’s older hardware struggling to run FO4 vanilla in certain areas let alone adding 50-100 mods.

I know this isn’t the best place for it, but if anyone was interested in peaking my load order to rule out an issue there vs. Sims then I’d be happy to post it.

Since downloading a performance optimizer which changes .ini values for a number of things I’ve been able to play for longer amounts of time with smoother gameplay before freezes or CTD. I suspect I have another mod or two somewhere adding to my issues, but after disabling and enabling mods 1 at a time or even the bad half/good half method of testing I’m no closer to finding a specific culprit.

Last piece that may be relevant to anyone else and especially using Sim Settlements plus addons:

I’m somewhat convinced some of my crashes in settlements such as Sanctuary that should behave normally without crashing or freezing may be due to corrupt meshes/textures somewhere. In addition to possibly corrupt meshes I’m leaning towards an issue in AI Navigation as well due to my sudden drops in frame rate before freezes or crashes.

Best of luck to anybody else with these issues on console; feel free to message me, I’m also willing to try and test out specific “fixes” or playtest various load orders and mod conflicts.
