999 Bug Fix (for me)

TL/DR: [Open Pip Boy >INV >MISC> City Manager 2078 Holotape> Options> Gameplay Options >Difficulty > then make sure Dynamic Needs is off (give it a few minutes and the resources should go back to normal ) (side note: if it doesn’t work, check the “local” option too from the city manager main menu, that also has a “Dynamic Need” setting and make sure that’s off too. The local option is also good for if you want Dynamic needs for just one settlement but want the rest to play as normal Fallout 4.

Main:
So I was struggling with this “999 bug” since some of my resources kept saying it was 999, which is not true. But as it turns out it’s because that means that specific resource is at a negative number and because the HUD for fallout 4 doesn’t do negative numbers, it goes back to 999. However, I don’t know why it suddenly would go to negative despite theoretically having enough resources for the population that I’d have? So as it turns out, it’s a Sims Settlement feature meant for people looking for advanced game modes that make you be more involved called “Dynamic Needs.” If you’re like me who just wants to use Sim Settlement to help with the normal gameplay of Fallout 4, you’d want to make sure “dynamic needs” is off. From there it should go back to being normal. Give it a few minutes after turning it off, it won’t happen right away and then it should be good. I hope this helps those who were trying to figure it out. I know I struggled a bit until I did some research and went through all the settings in the city manager. Also if you DO want to keep dynamic needs on but want to actually keep track of the dynamic stats, you can download the HUDFramework Mod and that’ll let you see the Sim Settlement negative stats instead of the 999. Once you install the mod, you can turn it on in the HUD options in the City Manager 2078 Holotape.

Hope this helps, enjoy!
