Well math is awesome but I have defenses that are triple production and I still loose fights a lot, so The randomness seem to favor the attacker in my game so off to defend that settlement I go.
Try out the mod linked in the end of the reddit post? I haven't tried it, but after just looking it's supposed to take out the randomness.

settlements attacks are fun!. They are mostly hard encounters. Lots of bullets and explotions, and you can see how those defences you had built works, running and hiding between all your precious junk. It also is a desperate situation if you have mortal settlers XD

I do have mortal settlers

Yeah, mortal settlers is crazy... in fact i lost one of the settlers at my 'Jake' settlement tonight (to a bloatfly coincidently lol) before i could get them assigned to a bed.. so now my assign settlers to beds/jobs is hanging in limbo until i can get another settler. lol

It is giving me time to build up my virtual resources though before the next round of SS2 quests. =)

I tried having my settlers be 'mortal' in combination with that "SKK Settlement Attacks" mod mentioned earlier; nobody even survived the first raid, since it appears that mod uses the Defense value of the settlement to determine raid size/difficulty, and SS2 Martial Plots provide disproportionately more Defense than any vanilla object ever would...

... she died to a f'n bloatfly. I'm sorry but that's rich right there. I'm telling you SS2 really hits the immersion.

You can adjust the raid strength within the SKK mod to account for the disproportionately higher defense provided by SS2 martial plots.

SKK Combat Stalkers'
Thanks, looks interesting - a question, do the bad guys spawn with a Fat Man? Getting nuked ruins the moment :this

PS: the SKK Settlement Attack System mod has also worked well for me.

If those do, I havent yet seen it. But with all the restarting I do to test stuff, I havent had a character pass about level 35 since SS2 launched...

Yeah, I'll try fiddling with the options and give it another go. I do like the mod (SKK's stuff has all been pretty great in my experience), just got to find the right options to get it to feel 'right', yknow?

I don't know if settler's stats affect their actual combat prowess in game, but Mama Murphy needs to be melee geared. (guest appearance by "Atom's Glory Threads" by Myrmarachne and Tinuvia)

You could install something like Floating Damage and compare her damage to others with the same weapon.
Thematically, a legendary walking cane would be more appropriate for her :crazy
Oh, sure, I just wanted SOMEONE to be using that sweet sword. (it's like... the Shishkebab, but with a Fusion Core where the 'fuel tank' was, does Physical+Energy+Radiation damage with every swing and has yellow-green flames coming off it)

Continuing the trend of hitting "non-settlers" with the Vit-o-matic...

No wonder things turned out the way they did. 3 INT was usually the line for getting the "idiot" dialog in 1/2/NV, and post-questline she's wearing a Mechanic Jumpsuit that gives +1 PER/INT...

Is there an easy way to convert them into being a settler, btw? I don't care much if doing that means losing that Radiant Quest.

Considering that Preston can go from quest-dispenser to companion to settler and retain most of his quest dispenser duties, I wouldn't be surprised if Isabella could be set as a settler. Just, maybe not as a shopkeeper - I've seen and experienced some issues with radiant quest sources being merchants before.

I am having that issue with radiant quest give being a bartender. No bartering just quest dialog

And speaking of going Full Mechanist... anyone else that likes using robots as settlers really should grab that new mod of pra's.

Still a couple levels short of being able to craft all the +10 stat-bonus Misc Torso Mods. Hella costly in terms of resources, but...

Sneake is no longer allowed to babysit.

EDIT: Immediately after this he somehow got into a fight with the local tamed bear and killed it after stealing a legendary minigun from the workbench. I think his faction settings might be a little wonky still.

On another note, Sneake is no longer allowed to petsit, either.

I think this might just be my favourite line I've heard from one of the Unique Settlers just chilling out in town. Voice actor NAILS the tone on this line.
(I believe it may actually be one of his "assigned to a Bar type plot" lines, even though he isnt)
