Upcoming Hotfix

So, any ideas why sanctuary wont upgrade? I've done everything possible, at 100% scrap and waited forever, still nothing.

Do you have the hotfix already downloaded and installed?

If so, you can enable logging and the log should dump out data on why it's ineligible to upgrade.

I downloaded the patch, yeah. Also, i am an xbox player. Love the mod so I made an account even though can't get as detailed as you guys.

Any tips for xbox player?

Since downloading the patch have you refreshed the city? I believe that is one thing you have to do. As well, it takes 10 days for the city to upgrade from level 0, to level 1. As well, sleeping/waiting 10, 24 hour periods, actually won't completely count towards the time required for it to upgrade if I recall correctly.

Oh, that's pretty important information thanks. I'll refresh and go adventure for a bit then

Alright, the other thing, I do not believe 6 settlers is quite enough for the upgrade to take place, so you may need to gather a few more.

It sounds like you don't have enough plots/population yet M Stark, I was at population 17 in sunshine co-op before it upgrades, for instance

edit: I believe I responded to the wrong individual! sorry about that

It's all good!

According to the patch notes, building a city at the castle would be okay before starting the old guns quest because passageways would no longer be blocked, but after resetting the city twice the passages were still blocked. I was able to get trough the quest durring the reset, since the passages were being unblocked durring city construction, but the the artillery schematics and box of flares were gone
It is sort of ok now, but if you already did it before the patch, the refresh can't fix it due to the way bethesda implemented the triggers. Building in the Castle before doing Old Guns- even without the City Plan can cause issues with the scripted sequences in general, so probably safest to not do it until after that quest.

I would argue this is a place where @kinggath 's stance on surprises and things for players to discover for themselves, despite its good intentions, becomes a hindrance. Without a detailed breakdown of how things are supposed to work, discovering and investigating bugs becomes a much more difficult process. It is hard to pinpoint where something is wrong when you only have a very basic understanding of what right is supposed to look like.
I've included clear plain english messages in the logs now, so savvy users can see what the problems are and help with debugging until I get everything worked out. The numbers aren't included in the logs every time because they all have a random element to them so they might give you the wrong impression as to what to do for the next settlement.

Red rocket upgrade to level 2 has been running 10 mins it has rained 6 times. I did turn the wide Cinerama off. Is this normal?? Will it stop???

20 mins now and rained 8 times. I think I am stuck. I can save .

30 mins now and rained 10 times. Going to save and restart and see what happens.

Yes as Fatikan mentioned below. Tab did stop it.

i was stock there earlier, although i had the message saying it was done (but the cinematic wouldnt quit)

Ah okay that makes sense, thanks! Also still a spectacular mod!

If anyone is having issues with Codsworth not staying assigned to the desk and thus preventing the settlement from upgrading you can try the following (PC)

1. Open up the console
2. Click on Codsworth
3. Type in and execute the following commands:
addkeyword WorkshopAllowCommand
addkeyword WorkshopAllowMove
setpv bAllowMove true
setpv bCommandable true

After I did this I reassigned Codsworth to the desk. Slept for 24 hours and the city was able to upgrade. Could just be a huge coincidence but I'm happy :)

I will say that from reading some Steam forum threads it appears that this is a known issue with Codsworth in vanilla so it might not necessarily be a fault with Sim Settlements. I got the commands from this forum thread on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/496881136914509449/
