Trees in settlements each have exact copies

So I wanted to ask here because I know everyone scraps trees in settlements. I'm having an issue where most trees I pick up or scrap in workshop mode each has an exact copy under it. it's only noticeable if I lift or scrap the tree, otherwise they look normal.
I'm using autumn overhaul, I've moved it around in load and re downloaded it, nothing changes.

it's not really a problem, my question is if anyone has ever had this happen, or of they know what could cause it. I'm hoping king gath or a mod author might have an idea. someone mentioned that it could cause save bloat, and I don't want to put a bunch of work into a playthrough for it to cause problems in the long run.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I have same thing at the moment. I have autumn as well as the conifers mod... I thought that was the issue. But for me this is unimportant as I like the trees, move them around and place around the plots...

I like the regrowth of foliage and such ... versus the barren look. If I want barren, I just scrap the trees.... my choice versus not being able to have trees... I also have mods to add trees such as Northland Diggers, Settlement Objects extended... so, I have options, not lack of.

John

good to know. I also love the overgrown look, I don't think I could play with the barren vanilla wasteland. I also have northern diggers, but having trees everywhere that I cant place them is more important, it has kept exploring very fun for me.

About to install this perfect pacify mod with the knockout framework, so exploring is about to get even more fun !

Some mod is causing something similar to a cell reset or cell overlay without reset. This is duping your trees.

My best guess is that it'll be some kind of placeable foilage mod trying to replace trees that are baked into precombined objects or some cleaner mod that has a script that isn't quite right.

sounds about right, only thing is the trees are exact copies, and they're the trees from autumn overhaul only, the few barren a trees I find are not affected.

more importantly, if it were you, would you ditch the mod? I have noticed a weird stutter that Ive never had, but overall performance is pretty good, even when there are tons of trees around

it might be double placing them too. I'd at least try loading in without it loaded and see if both the duplicated trees and the stutter go away.

it may also come to pass that you have two separate copies of that same mod loaded too. If they offer the same tree algorithm as two separate mods, that could absolutely dupe everything.

interesting, thanks. I have tried redownload ing and reinstalling the mod, no change, and without the mod, or with other tree mods, there are no copies. the performance Is actually still very good, like I aaid, I'm just worried about what's happening under the hood. I'm hoping the author fixes it and I end up with even better performance. in the meantime, performance is good enough to keep the mod and wait for now
