Hi!
I'm doing a play-through with the SS, Conqueror and Minutemen faction add-on, and I am absolutely loving the additional depth this gives the settlements. Settlements are one of my favorite aspects of the game, but it always felt a bit strange to have a literal fortress without being able to help the other people of the commonwealth, and this addresses this desire.
I have one suggestion regarding the interaction between outposts and normal settlements however. I am doing a play-through with the Minutemen, but I find the outpost/vassal dynamic is a little bit out of character for the Minutemen. For 'evil' factions such as the raiders it is an awesome concept that fits perfectly, but for the Minutemen the vassals doesn't seem to fit to me. I also don't necessarily want all my settlements to be military outposts and not generate taxes, but not being able to support my military operation with supplies from my civilian settlements seems a bit strange. It kind of seems like it is an all-or-nothing approach (which again, is awesome and totally reasonable for the raiders etc.). I personally like the idea of a large civilian city with industry and agriculture protected by a heavy military fortress, and in turn supplying them with resources.
My suggestion is therefore: Allow outposts to form automatic supply lines to friendly civilian settlements on the same line as vassal settlements, or allow manual supply lines to be established between outposts and settlements. (For some factions at least.)
Thoughts?
