Closed [Settler assignment] Weapons dealer & Armour dealer considered as guard

My case:
- 6 shops (each of a kind)
- 3 guard posts (plots, not vanilla guard posts)
- When everything is assigned, the game sees 5 guards in the town.
- Tried to have all-manual assignment and full-auto assignment settings.

Subjective Minor Issue:
Game considers Weapons dealer & Armour dealer as "Guards" (as they generate "shields" by working at shops(?))

Subjective Major Issue:
The Weapons dealer is camping at the Guard post, instead of being a salesman at his shop (annoying/confusing gameplay ensues).

Screenies:
(lucky, the NPC was at shop to get this screen)

(the same NPC is now camping a guard post - you can see that his real "workplace" is highlighted in background)

(the real guard who "owns" the guard post is waiting near the guard post, because the wanna-be-guard merchant is there)

(here is vocation summary...confusingly Weapons Dealer is not on the list at this time...had issues of weapons shop to not being assigned randomly)

P.S.
Kinggath, you are an inspirational modder, thank you for your awesome creation.

The Weapon and Armor shops provide a defense boost - apparently the game has decided to take that to mean it can re-assign those settlers to guard duty... The only solution I have for this so far, is to tell people not to keep vanilla guard posts unless they have someone assigned to them.

I'll try and find a better solution, but Sim Settlements is at constant war with the vanilla scripts - so I'm not positive I'll have one.

Thanks for info.

Hmm, I've never had Vanilla Guard posts in Sanctuary, I try to have my settlements completely Null, before I start putting down plots.
Then again, its Sanctuary. I'll see whether this works weirdly in a fresh clean settlement.

Processed by wiki team.

Kinggath, does this apply to both PC and Xbox?

Yes, but it won't happen all the time. It depends on how which script finishes first. If Sim Settlements finishes its assignment first, the NPC won't be given a guard post and will still be a shopkeeper. If Bethesda's finishes first, the opposite.

Ultimately, the solution is going to be to just remove those bonuses - which is sad, but it will make for better gameplay.

Ok. Thank you for the extra info.
