Public Beta 2.2.1

I had an issue with Jake earlier where he was stuck on the console in the comm array room wouldn’t interact with me or acknowledge I was there he was dead focused on that console. but I used move to player run over to Lupe It initiated his convo for the remote control quest. I declined getting in as I had already been stuck in it earlier. I quick interacted with him with x and got him to initiate his convo for the commonwealth’s rising quest and got through quest No problem and Then was able to do remote control with no issues. Just a struggle to move forward when he was sat there is all.
I have also experienced both Jake and Lupe being unresponsive in the Comm Array room, but only intermittently (on the current stable release, not on the beta). They both appear to be functioning now, but it was definitely worrisome!!
 
If there isn't already, there should be a flag like "make Commonwealth Rising a priority if Remote management is active". It seems that Jake wants to start the meeting and Lupe's being like "hey check out this cool chair"

Basically. Possibly to much going, Idk what it making him hard stuck like that but I’m sure it can be fixed.
 
I fixed Lily with console commands and a resum with town gavel. Seems you guys have her flagged incorrectly I’m guessing so we can’t move her. Dunno but I guess I mini hacked it. Did you know you can also “Save” Crow Corvus this way (not the console commands) but after you send Raven to the settlement you want and she’s arrived there (12-24h ingame) Use hammer. Talk to Crow “free” him and quest goes on like normal. Lol just thought I’d share.

It's pretty funny, yeah. Even the vanilla "kidnapping" quests can be completed in a couple seconds with that.
Lily could be intended that way, idk. My first settlement often ends up abandoned :/ And I like Lily. She can be recruited to HQ too I guess but probably not back to the settlement.
 
FYI, all - I'm just now catching up on this thread and am about to reply to a bunch of posts - some a week-plus old.

I have a new build ready, but want to check for any more insight into other issues I can fix quickly before posting the build. I will have more time tomorrow or Wednesday to sneak in additional changes before Friday patch day!

Apologies for the absence, I have started working with a new client the last few weeks and it's got my plate pretty darn full currently!
 
Excruciatingly minor thing:
The "Administration Offices" is showing up under "Other" in Construction instead of under "Admin" like I'd have expected. It's set to be built in the space of that shape in the Office level, if that's relevant.
I swear it didn't used to...

(the other option there under "Other" is "Player Quarters", that one's whatever)

EDIT: Odd, I left then came back about an ingame day later, and now it's in the 'correct' submenu?
Found the issue - looks like the Component complexity version of the build record was in the wrong category. (Won't be fixed in V3, but will be for patch day)
 
And if I can make a small request, can the blacksmith upgrade include armor lab? some high level stuff needs that so had to get the perk anyway.
Oh I didn't know Blacksmith was used by the Armor Workbench for any recipes. Do you have an example of an item for me? Might be I was looking at the wrong records and there are other perk/lab pairings I missed as well.
 
  • Corpses from "Infestations" appear to never be 'cleaned up' - got some shattered Bloatfly remains in one bedroom that's been there for ingame weeks
This is supposed to be handled by the game engine automatically. Can you click on one and run the console command: sv

This should show if its being persisted by any aliases, in which case that's something I can fix.

She was supposed to be reconfigured at the end of the quest she's in, so must be a bug there to sort.

I think the Crow hack has been on my list of "Bug that is a benefit - so ultra-low priority".
 
Hey I am having issues with my hud and settlements and scripts running with newest update from nexus. My hud is Like fluctuating all over the place saying no food no jobs or homes etc over and over again or would just get stuck. With no bars full. I downloaded the workshop script over ride last night. It fixed most my issues. Just having power grid issues now. Mostly just from a crash prevent or because workshop had to update those settlements to get the correct code with the new mod/Script I downloaded. Was an easy enough fix with power tools or running around rewiring everything so was good. game was fine. I then started chp2 quests like dark horizons now I’m on the vault 81 radio quest. And I was doing some Unique settlers quests I come into sanctuary to get an update from Cleff I send him to hangman’s then I save I try to go craft something at my work bench, i then crash. I load back from save. Get into game. Crash. I checked fallrim tools and I have 30 active ss2 scripts running with the last patch installed. I need help to stop all these scripts from running at once in my game.
I Have not download the beta because this is a new save from the last beta and I wanted to get to HQ and enjoy the new systems you had so was going to wait before I installed a new beta.
Those scripts are very unlikely to be the cause of your crash - my bet would be another power grid corruption.

I'd recommend installing Buffout 4, it will generate a crash log we can look at to find out exactly what the issue is.
 
Could you turn on individual settlement info on the HUD and see which settlement(s) do not add up correctly? It will only check what is in each individual settlement as you walk in, not all settlements each time.
@kinggath maybe we could change it so every 24 game hours it does a loop and checks all settlements? It's only checking numbers in the datastore, so it doesn't require the settlements to be loaded. We should also put in a check to stop it from running if the ClearStoredExcessCapacity array is not empty (we don't want it running in that two minutes the player has to fix up their max storage before losing resources).
If you've found a way to pass on a save @yaugie that would still help.

BTW yaugie, I've started seeing the unassigned settler issue in my game. So now I can put in my own runtime debugging to alert me when it happens (in theory). That's one small step for code, one giant leap towards making those lazy settlers do what you told them ...
In V3, I'm eliminating my Workshop Framework "fix" that tries to correct broken WorkshopItemKeyword link connections and am moving that to a manual run tool. I'm hoping this will fix a lot of random issues regarding assignment.
 
Not really a bug but seems all assets have gone missing. Visual bugs you’ve fixed are unfixed lol
If you have clutter turned off in your performance settings, many items will be removed from HQ. That cell is a performance hog - needed to alleviate the pain for a lot of users!

I have buffout 4 installed. I think it was your hud override mod from the SS2 download page. But yes I believe it was power. I was reading through your form post here and seen your post about auto fixing the grid and causing issues and to turn off so I did and my crashes from power stop just still had issues with like hud bars and resources not being calculated or jumping around

Some of the pack outfits (from nuka-world). Possibly more stuff from DLC with more perks (I think Scrounger was one of them? For deep pockets?). Fallout wiki was useless or I'd give a better reference.

Oh, I know. Ballistic weave with no Railroad! HQ superiority!
(I do know that a lot of mods already add that so idk)
