Patch 1.0.3 - "Side Questing" - is live!

You need to bring up your Task Manager and then click Properties and set it to Always Be On Top.

That should prevent you from locking up and having to sign out of Windows to restart.
You really are a vault of knowledge! Did that now! Thank you!

on Lacey Buckle’s quest, I got the battered giddyup buttercup, but when I go back to Lacey nothing happens, no quest update, she just responds with random comments.

All hail the polish steam Fallout 4 forum :D That brought me on that path
I was brought to that darkside once... Luckily the good folks in this forum brought me back to the light!
Look into Clean My Settlement by Whisper (Bionicyardif on Nexus)

Awesome! Thank you!

I like the idea to hide the original grass/stuff and replace it with safely scrapable stuff.
No previs/precombines get broken that way, which is totally cool!

I had 6 freezes now... not even task manager came up anymore... had to logout... before game ran flawless. I will rollback and report...

EDIT01
Did some checks.
This version with this location and former version with those locations.
Seems it only happens in vault88 (where I just arrived)
I am almost sure its not SS2 but something in my vault88?

EDIT02
Back on SimSettlements 1.0.3 and Framework 2.0.7
Found my little trouble maker -> Scrab Everything (now disabled)
No freezed Molerats popups anymore
No freeze when firing anymore
No freeze when using quicksave anymore
All hail the polish steam Fallout 4 forum :D That brought me on that path :agree:

No freezed Molerats popups anymore
You need this mod:
No More Teleporting Creatures at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community
That eliminates that bug of:
Infinite loading screens exiting areas with molerats like Molerat Den, Concord Sewers, etc
Eliminates the freezing when shooting at them as they pop out of the ground.
I think it also eliminates the Blood Worm bug in Nukaworld.

That bug is completely random each game you play. Sometimes you get it and sometimes you do not.

After the update I lost all sim settlements2 progress. And had to start the story again.
i notice even with all the lots gone the date is still there. The settlement bar is almost maxed out. I tried the delete settlement option at the workbench but it’s didn’t remove the old data. Also some settlement lots had objected flouting from the old lots before the update.

Did the message in the upper that appears when you killed a molerat look like this [...] If so, the quest alias needs to be fixed. There was a post about this in the SS2 Help forum.

IIRC, this is on the "to do" list. The best thing I've found to fix this is went the settlers assigned to more that one plot to another settlement. Wait until they are completely unassigned and them send them back to the original settlement. I have also found if you turn auto assignment off, the problem seems to go away. Although playing with that turned off is... tedious...
Yes the molerat looked liike that.[...] Thanks for the tip.

Hey thanks man. I didn't even know this was available. I didn't even know I NEEDED it. But I do!

Yeah well once you had that annoying ass bug you understand you need it. I restart a lot, and I mean a lot. So it used to be the first thing I would do was go to the Molerat Den to see if I had to restart again.

I spent like two days chasing that damn bug going through like 100 mods multiples times trying to find the conflict. Then someone here showed me that mod and never had it since.

Thats what I had! Freezed Molrats that do not attack, freezing Game when I Quicksave or shoot at them!
Will get that cure right meow! @Bored Peon, your knowledge should be a sticky in the wiki! Thank you for sharing it once again.

I am still staying away from "scrap everything", because after I let if out, all the freeze in my vault88 was gone...
The mod that @msalaba linked works like charm and does not break vids&combs!

If you snipe the raiders who kidnapped your settlers, instead of wasting time trying to negotiate with them, you end up with one settler who just stays kneeling on the ground in a hostage posture. He responds when you click on him but has no conversation. You cannot release him and send him to Sanctuary. He has no custom name in my game, which because I am using What's Your Name indicates that he was not from the settlement. I suspect he was the one who was supposed to be shot when you talked to the raiders, only I shot them first. His prid in my game was ff003861 and he did not seem to exist after I got back to Sanctuary because I could not move him to me. I am pretty sure he was the expendable settler. Might be nice to make him able to be recruited if he survives.

That aint your settler.

Hi. Sorry if I post in the wrong thread but I really don't know where to post as I don't really know if this is a bug or no...

Must the compatibility with the vanilla workshop system be assured by SS2 (the plots support) or by each modder for his plots?

I explain : as I dev a mod mainly concerning settlers and workshop objects and after some results not corresponding to what I waited for I've done some tests and I think these problems are present on SS2 plots, comparing to vanilla workshop items :

- First it seems many industrial plots permitting scavenging don't set the 'bIsScavenger' flag of the settler assigned. I thing it is because they don't set a scavenging value (WorkshopRatings[WorkshopRatingScavengeGeneral].resourceValue).

- The problem seems to be the same sort (with the resource value Safety) for security as settlers assigned to security plots are not marked as guard (bIsGuard)

Note : it can also explain why often the settlers are static because I think some workshop packages use these keywords.

An annex question concerns the new plot types not existing in the vanilla system (municipal for example) : is there an easy way to know what they produce (water, electricity,...)?

I am aware of that, as I said in the part of my post you neglected to quote. But he could be if he was able to be recruited after I saved him from the raiders, as I also said in that part of my post.
He is auto-recruited, but his AI package gets stuck under some circumstances. It's on the to-do list.

Not sure if Bored Peon let you know Kinggath but there might be an issue with the Pet Shop plot not selling pets regardless of who's the settler merchant.

If this is reported, I will delete this post.

I got side tracked and never got a settler to assign to build it, lol.

I will definitely get that done and checked out.

Ok, so....
Round 1
After a fifteen minute wait my scripting gave me a settler from Settler Calling (half the reason I procrastinated)
First attempt I got it built and the vendor had no inventory.
Went to assign the vendor to a scavenging station to check for the bug other vendors had....and the game froze.
Round 2
After the ten minute wait for scripting again...
Second attempt same thing, no inventory.
Assigned to scavenging station and back and no inventory.

Also noticed Bookstore had same issue. Reported both #428 as an issue with v1.3
