Neeher's Expanded Settlement Area Mods

So I have been testing and it looks like they only partly function with Sim Settlements.

You can build in the expanded area and your plots will upgrade but settlers will not interact with the plot. They seem to use cooking stations and other non-Sim Settlement assets in the expanded area though. They tend to just stand around and do nothing instead of their normal routine.

Also the HUD does not seem to work in the expanded area. Its like it remembers the old Settlement Area before it was expanded. I have never used Conquest. Does it act the same way?
 
Settlers interact with there plots in conquest
in my water world build they farm and use defense plots and shops etc

I am using some of his mods and haven't run into any problems, but I also have a settler sandbox and AI mod that expands how far they can go.
I have conquest but haven't build and new settlements to test SS in
 
What sandbox and AI mod? Ill test those and see if they do the trick.

So the HUD works for you in the Expanded area?
 
Oh It does that for me, just when I am there they do not use the plots outside of the normal area.
 
@MrJoseCuervo are you stalking your settlers?

But seriously, so are you saying that they aren't farming at ag plots or scraping at ind plots if you are there? Have you tried one of the martial guard plots from Industrial Revolution? That one has settlers doing the guard standing thing so that might be easy to test.

I was going to start a new settlement with the Murkwater Construction expanded borders one so I will take a close look at how the settlers interact with the "outside the border" plots.
 
Hangmans alley doesn't work at all for me. Anything beyond the back area the Settlers will not use. Bed , Martial or whatever.

I have some success with the RedRocket Expanded. The 2 plots that are working are halfway outside of the normal area. Anything completely outside the settlers will not go there. Plots upgrade but settlers will not go to their beds. Ten pines gives me trouble. Any Agri or Industrial plot there is a no mans land (in the expanded area). Those are the only ones I have used.
 
Thanks for the details. I will have to take a look at those things as I build out Murkwater.

So you have seen that they will use/interact with vanilla jobs or manually placed beds in those expanded areas?
 
It seems somewhat hit or miss to me as well. A bar I have in the middle of the river at Red Rocket Expanded gets regular visitors. And then other plots seem to go upgraded but unused. Or even get unassigned and reassigned from time to time.

I also found that asam vision would flash outside of the vanilla limits but needs to be turned on from inside the original area.

I built 12 houses at the river area of Hangmans (inc. over the river itself) all of them on JtByrant's foundation things, and all of them have started to build, without a problem.

I'm hoping that Neeher extends Bunker Hill. I use Settlement Borders Extended and did some exploring while at Bunker Hill on a previous playthrough and the HUD works right up to the surrounding houses on two sides of the settlement.
 
Mind you, we could always message Neeher, ask them to install HUD frame work and then to only expand into areas that it actually shows up! Just an idea!

As yet, I haven't checked back with them today to see how there doing! But, even in vanilla areas/settlements my settlers often don't use there houses.
I say often but it's about 70% of the time and normally if I arrive at a settlement before bed time. If I arrive after bed time they're all in bed. But for some reason if I arrive before, they don't go to their beds.

I'm not using any of those mods yet. My settlers still stand around. I think it has a lot to do with the pathing and navmeshing in FO4, because settlers will happily try to walk through a foundation for an extended period. Building stuff on different levels doesn't help either, especially using foundations on unlevelled terrain.
 
Nope. I am talking about the SS Needs HUD. The vanilla HUD displays work though.
Hmm I'll have to double check later, but I'm pretty sure mine works. Is there a specific area that it doesn't, or is it anywhere outside vanilla
Edit: just tested and at RR it stopped working outside vanilla (HUD)
