Question Mortal Civilians?

I'm about 7 hours into a new playthrough and I'm running better settlers with mortality turned on. I like the idea of my settlements facing threats with real consequences, and while civilians add variety, it kinda kills it for me when 3/4 of a settlement is populated with them yet only one settler explodes into a bloody mess from a deathclaw swipe.

Are there a set amount of civilians?
Will I eventually get more vulnerable settlers, or will it be more civilians?
Is there any way to configure civilians to become mortal?
I don't mind keeping a portion of the population immune to death as it keeps them somewhat lively after hard raids.

:bye I don't think anyone has deliberately documented how Better Settlers and Conqueror interact throughout the levels in the course of a game.
:scratchhead
I expect it would affect mortality if that is what you are using.
I expect it could affect the looks of all spawned NPC's - that is why it is called better settlers.
Depending on your better settlers it could affect the clothing, items, and armor they are spawned with.

Given those thoughts "hypothesis" if I didn't give a good enough reply then I would completely remove Better-Settlers from the question and maybe more folks would reply with specific answers.

I might pay attention to it myself now that you have brought it up and I use both mods.:good

Better settlers allows for a mortal version.

I do not think there are any mortal civilians in SS, and at least to my knowledge, there isn't a mod to fix it. If I am wrong, I wouldn't mind getting a link.

I think there's an option to disable civilians, or is that only dialog?
