actual expansion pack? you mean besides the massive amount of add ons that expand this mod?! King gath is a wizard amongst men, I can't stress how excited I am for this expansion pack. I could never play fallout 4 without sim settlements again. just wanted to express my appreciation for King gath and his dedication to this mod.

Also you guys making the add ons, they are all extremely impressive, and add so much to the mod and game overall. I've been studying tutorial videos and plan on contributing something at some point.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of expansion were talking about? any kind of Spoilers at all?

Not sure how much @kinggath wants out there on it yet

That's understandable, I'm hoping he feels the enthusiasm and wants to put out a teaser of some sort. you add on authors have helped make this mod easily into the most important fallout mod I've ever used. Really loving those factories!

Hopefully he does! I'm pretty excited just based on what I know, which is pretty small, just some aspects that will impact my add-on.

Yeah I'm really anxious to know something. I get excited about all of the add ons, so I cant even imagine what kind of craziness he would consider an actual expansion pack

Agree with the OP, SS has really changed the way Fallout is played.

Cannot wait for the reveal of the expansion features!

Super excited as well, hopefully I can get my super annoying bug that is breaking all my settlements fixed so I can finally enjoy Sim Settlements and a Minuteman/ Settlement focused playthrough.

So, in kings video on the 6th, he mentioned he'd be releasing information soon, maybe as soon as next week.

Here's hoping our hero spills at least some of the beans on the major features very soon. I am extremely excited for the additions to the point where I'm holding off doing anything serious towards making my own addon mods until I can use all the glorious new features.

I've got some ideas for things I'd like to make - mostly ideas for 2x1x1, 2x2x1 and 2x2x2 internal bays without external walls for placement inside player made buildings. To my thinking, the Sole Survivor makes the mall/apartment complex and the settlers rent bays inside it.

I also have some other thoughts on using DLC Vault parts for the exteriors (color coded of course) with different layouts in the interiors by type and clutter randomness, snap to existing vault hallway parts as a prefab "room", etc. This would make building an amazing settlement inside of vault 88 fun and easy and it'd be a blast to wander through it.

Quite frankly, other than changing out the power connectors, all of these would be easy within the existing models. Simplest would be to to run via a transmitted power conduit to any point of the external structure, use the vault power converter to convert back to normal power connectors where needed, etc. Is there any way to consume x points of power via a transmitted power connector so as to keep it balanced?

There's just something about Sim Settlements that has captured my creative imagination and I can't wait to see what's coming around the corner.

if you make an add-on he occasionally tells us stuff early so we can plan for it in our add-ons.

There lies the path to early access info!

It's possible to make items on your Sim Settlement plot take power from the plot itself. Increasing the power requirement of the plot itself (the thing you connect a wire to), and making the objects on the plot only be powered if the plot itself has sufficient power.

Just a guess from reading way too much stuff etc. However....
Ok first off I think the update will half be about fixing up and lingering bugs and getting rid of those.
Secondly, according to his video there appears to be new structures that smoke. Some suggest factories. Other suggest a failed attack. And yet others, like myself] have no clue lol.

Mostly I see this as being a stabilizer in that it will be 99% bug free. From the little I have gleaned of kinggaths personality, this appears to be very important to him and I am pretty sure it will happen.

And then will have some new buildings and many new features that people here have suggested.

Ok so that is my assessment that will go along with everyone else's mostly speculative mental wanderings here :)
Until he tells us though, it is all guess work. :)

Aggree with OP in that this mod is a total game changer and now a must have.

If he is calling it and Expansion I would think it a new mechanic or something bigger than bug smashing like adding in his salvage beacon but in a big way. Or new AI which would open up the addon possiblities or something.

Oh and cudos to all add on authors. I have no plans to contribute talent but maybe $$. Everytime I think, hey we need this add on than I look and somebody made it already, lol. This community rocks!

I can say from what I know that it is an expansion, not just an update of what exists already. There is a clue to the content in the trailer video, but I can see how it would be interpreted in multiple ways :P

Is it weird that Im looking forward to a Sim Settlement Expansion from kinggath and the other modders more than I do a FO4 Expansion from Bethesda?

To be fair, that might not be true if there was a real expansion to FO4 coming out and it added a lot of neat content.

Nope, not at all. In fact, I think Beth may feel very similar (Creation Club) lol

I do not think it is that weird.
After all, with the help he is getting this mod is
"JUST THAT GOOD :) :) :)

I can only second this "waiting for sim settlements expansions" emotion: Hoping for cool new features more than I've been waiting for a full game release in a long time.
