Jake is a real enjoyable character and his voice actor . ..

Jake's voice is provided by the wonderfully talented Tom!
Yes! Everyone - do send the actors your love! They will appreciate it very much.

Much of the cast do voice-acting full-time (well, for the main story crew I know, since I only managed those guys), so dedicating volunteer time for us is very kind of them, and required their full support.

You can find a list of all the actors in the credits here.

Send 'em your love!

PS: My first post on the new forums :umnik2 (voice director)

This one is somewhat less flattering. (Warning: You can't unsee this)

Jake is so well integrated into the game that I sometimes find myself subconsciously looking for him in Concord after saving Preston and the Quincy survivors during vanilla playthroughs. Fantastic voice acting, phenomenally written story/dialogue, considerate/resourceful scripting, and active community participation really elevate this mod to the highest caliber (calling it a mod really doesn't feel like it's doing this body of work justice anymore). Hands down Jake is one of the best mod added companions in the game.

One aspect of Jake's character that is kind of underused in Fallout 4 (and a lot of other games, of course) is that he's a competent NPC. He sends you on good old fetch quests sometimes, sure, but when you get back he hasn't been sitting on his butt awaiting your return. Just about every time you pop back in to see him he's been keeping busy and pulling his weight, and something in his workshop has changed (for better or worse). Not to mention he's just plain charming and adorable.

Honestly, it feels at times like HE is the protagonist of his story, and we're just along as his Companion to be an extra gun when he does a 'dungeon run'. I like it.

I absolutely love Jake. My heart sunk coming back to finding him gone, his workshop destroyed and that dustpile on the floor and then the dreaded 'This is the end of Chapter 1' popped up up and I'm like noooooooo. I don't want it to be over. I could start a new play through, but i'm having fun placing all these ASAM and poking all their buttons seeing what they do.

Oh, same. I was like...what...no...that's really it for now?! And...I immediately decided it was the perfect time to drop some mods out of my load order and start a new game. :<3:

I may or may not have cried. The end message killed me on the inside. I actually had to go back to a save before I finished up that quest so that I wasn't leaving him
kidnapped by the Gunners.

To be honest, I downloaded Sim Settlements 2 for all of the cool features, but... I may be in it for Jake. I didn't think I'd like him so much, but you know how things go. But one thing led to another and I'd get warm feelings when he calls my character "Darlin'"

I am also in the warm fuzzies club when he calls my Sole Darlin'.

Ok as far as the voice actors go, all super good job. First time I heard Aiden speak I was like, "I know that voice". And I was right. The Ron and Old Paul are hilarious. But doing a few quests with Jake has spoiled me for the vanilla companions. Took Preston to Olivia and I wanted to shoot him. He complained about the dust the whole time. I may not finish SS2 main quest till Kinggath releases the next chapter. ;)

Needs some additional lines when not in dialogue besides being mute

Like:
I hope you aren't one of those synths to spy on me
Another day in the commonwealth

Or some other meaningless but insightful truisms.
John

PS - Honestly, I think Dogmeat and Garvey are the 2 worst ever - just for the mechanics of always being in my way...
