I unlocked Multiple-Person Homes and now I can't change the building plan, it only shows me "**Random" and nothing else to choose from.

The title pretty much says it all. I build a bunch of Residential Plots and unlocked Multiple-Person homes. When I go to any plot to change the building plan, all that comes up is: **Random. Nothing else, this is my only option, at first I thought they weren't implemented yet but the multiple people homes are listed on the Sim Settlements 2 site.
Did anyone ever encounter this problem? Do I have to finish more quests to unlock them?

Have you unlocked any plans for multi-holmes?
Do you have any mods that give you the multi-home plots?
What version are you on?

Try this:

I got a notification that I unlocked multi-person homes, I dont now anything about unlocked plans. I have no other SSM2 mods expect the 1.0.0g and the extended PC version.

Unlocking a subcategory and having plans are two different things. Normally the plans unlock as you do quests not just ss2 ones but just regular quests have spawned unlocks for me to. Like when you rescue the people in concord and go to sanctuary you unlock a home plan for the old lady. After you do sturges sanctuary quest like it unlocked a home plan for me same thing when I retook the castle. Ss2 ties a lot of stuff into the base games stuff. Also some stuff requires ss2 addon packs to function.

But not even my regular residential plot building plans are available.

Hmm do you have any plans if you refresh the plot or store the plot and then place a new one ? You can also unlock all the plans from the city desk so lay a save down unlock all the stuff check if it’s there then roll back save. Also download the latest ss2 hot fix the 1.0.0K from the forums if you are using the 1.0.0G from nexus.

also scripts can backup sometimes requiring you to wait a while before stuff starts to function again ss2 has reduced this a lot for me though But it still happens occasionally like with the hud and flying using the workshop plus.

  1. Refreshing or storing and then placing a new residential plot doesn't fix the issue.
  2. Unlocking the 5 multi-person home plans with the city desk works.
  3. The latest ss2 beta doesn't fix the issue.
  4. Reloading an older save and then unlocking multi-person homes again works, although only 4 of the 5, I assume the last one must be unlocked extra?

I would really like an answer to this myself. It would be very convenient to exchange all of my single-person homes for multi-person.

Okay, this is starting to look like a regular issue, and the bug can happen with any category as it happened for me with Recreational interiors, 3x3 Agriculture, and 2x2 Martial. I wasn't able to fix it and instead started over (as I didn't have a backup save). And I assume you already tried to reset building cache in the advanced tools section of the holotape? Do you remember anything you did in the mod or anything weird that happened before you ended up with only "random"?

I can't remember doing anything within the mod itself.

I did eventually get a multi person home by making a lot of random homes. Not an optimal solution.
