Fixed Hotfix 2.0.5a: Settlers Locking Up

Man, I know that feeling. To that all I can say is starting from a previous point is better than all the way over though.

Most of your mods are pretty popular, so I'd look to the less popular ones as the potential problem.

Blacksmith and Portal Gun are the two I'd check on. Check there mod pages to see if people are complaining of issues.

The other thing you might try, is loading up again without mods and just wait about 15 minutes not in any menus, just leave your character in the world. After that, see if the issue clears up- it could be as simple as script lag that's making the issue stick around even after you disabled your mods.

So, tried this to no avail. Looking over the other mods, I found something a little troubling, but not sure if I should be worried about it. Looking at the Blacksmith mod, I came across this comment on the Bethesda site:

Fellow mod maker here, be careful when combining this mod with UCO. You'll get the Armored Army fatigues bug which won't break your game initially but it will eventually. You'll have to wipe all saves+entire game and the cloud.

Unsure if this would apply to the mod for Eli's Armor Compendium or not.

I don't think it would affect Eli's mod - hard to say though. It actually looks like Blacksmith is quite popular on Xbox, I just haven't heard of it for whatever reason - so if there were major issues, you'd find lots of reports.

The only thing left to do, is load up a new character with your current load order, get to Local Leader as quick as possible and test if you can send settlers. In fact, to make this test super-useful - start up a new game with 0 mods and make a save just outside the vault. Then enable your mods, and create a new copy of the save - that way you'll have a fresh save after the start sequence to test from if this happens again.

Sounds good. I'll just set my character to lvl100 when I enable mods to test it out. I probably wont be able to until Sunday though- should I make a new thread or respond here with results?

Yeah I used to use the blacksmith mod but after a while I never really used it, so now I just have free maker and free crafter. Those two are better in my opinion and take less space.
