Dropping happiness. Help!

My happiness is dropping at my Longfellow's cabin settlement, but i'm not sure why.

I've got my food + water + defence above the number of settlers. Also, it looks like some of the beds are double assigned, but I might be wrong about that one. Any way to check?

Here are the stats:

People - 8
Food - 12
Water - 9
Power -15
Defence - 46
Beds - 9

Housing - 58%
Jobs - 37%
Happiness - 48%

As far as I know, objects can't be double-assigned (engine limitation) - so that should be your issue.

The happiness check looks for: beds, food, water, defense, and jobs - so maybe the low employment is your issue? Or do you have them assigned to vanilla work?

Do you happen to have a bar in the settlement? That is usually pretty necessary in later game settlements to keep happiness climbing.

Do you have any robots? They have a set happiness of 50 and will drag your settlement happiness down toward that average.

Hey there! Been away so haven't played. Yes I DO have people assigned to vanilla work, so that might be causing the happiness to plummet. Have been mixing Sim Settlements and vanilla jobs and beds. I'll try transitioning them to full modded jobs now, and see.

Nope no robots here - thanks for the advice tho!

Mixing is actually totally fine!

Sim Settlements doesn't control the happiness system, it's still letting Fallout's system handle it, so you just have to follow the same rules as always. Generally, building a bar alone can fix falling happiness.

@edcoastar

Have you checked the plots you have for any happiness negatives from Dynamic Needs?

I find mixing vanilla with sim works best. I have vanilla objects within game that I have assigned to settlers outside of sim. I look for jobs or features such as a water cooler with the happy smile... and unemployment is nil. I keep extra beds around so I don't have someone complaining about sleeping in shifts. my happiness in settlements are generally almost always over 90%.

Hey @mytigio, apologies for the late reply - I've not been playing much recently due to changes at work.

Not yet. Will pull up the holotape to check, and come back to this forum.

I'm not overly fussed about it since I've got my Benevolent Leader achievement already - just wondering how to solve this minor annoyance. Doesn't happen to other settlements that have SS and vanilla, so probably an isolated incident.
