It's not a mod conflict in this case. So no worries. :)
And merge some of those mods! You can save like 20 slots. LOL!
 
I could, but I have all I need for this game. I was above the limit before I merged VIS and RUE patches, and that saved me like 20 plugins. On the next rebuild I'm sure I'll wind up merging more.
 
That's awesome. Also: switching to manual upgrade and staying until the upgrade is done seems to have helped in regards to "not messing up a settlement that was ok". Upgrading by itself does not clean up messed up settlements, though. Refresh settlement does, though. Saved like 4-5 ones that looks like a work by Salvator Dalí.
 
I don't know if this is related, but noticed something during the Weapons research quest(slight spoilers):
Whenever you drop the Energy Signature Analyzer, it is seemingly tilted at the same angle as the odd settlement structures.
 
Just to chime in, i see this problem in Sanctuary, Red Rocket and the DriveIn. I do have upgrades on auto though, so i see the issue when the first upgrade hits. i will try refreshing the cities tonight and see if that helps.

I can't even get to the desk over there, the lower wall is missing where that bunk is hanging in space. And that fence is just shooting out of the wall into nothing. This is just one messed up area, there are examples throughout the build.

If it helps this seemed to start with the 3.30 combo pack. I had a good build on an earlier play through before I installed that.

Should I tear it down, and try the manual upgrade route?

Refreshing plots has no effect on the random items spawned by the city plan. You need to use the "Refresh city" in the city plan part of the table. Where you choose the leader/plan etc.

thank you... i will try that then... Just blew up two settlements lol.

Quick Update: Refresh City (you have to scroll down to see that option for pete's sake, almost wrote a nasty note, until i saw the scroll arrows) WORKED. It fixed my beloved Red Rocket! I really like the little player home on the top of it.

Problem should be fixed after the most recent patch to Sim Settlements.

I will mark the post solved, but will not archive it yet. Tell us, if something is still going on.
 
Thanks, this has been happening with any settlement I set up with an NPC mayor. Does the patch clear out the junk items that got spawned inside other interior cells as well? I currently can't get into the reactor room of Vault 81 because the entrance is blocked by misplaced items from Nordhagen Beach.

Edit: After patching Sim Settlements Three-in-One to 3.3.1, every time I try to approach a settlement using an NPC mayor/city plan, I CTD. I tried following this flowchart but I cannot approach from N, S, E or W without crashing when I get within a certain distance of the settlement. Tried Remote Self Destruct from the Pipboy holotape but it doesn't seem to find the nearby settlement (just says 'searching for nearby charges' and then nothing), or I can't get close enough to trigger it without CTDing. Tried the Town Gavel and 'scrap everything', which makes it so the lights in the distance die out as the settlement objects are scrapped (nevermind that, it was a spotlight that swung its arc in the opposite direction and I mistook this for it being scrapped) but I still CTD when I try to approach, or use 'coc <name of cell>' from the console. Any advice? Is this recoverable or should I write those settlements off for this playthrough? Neither is in an area with overlapping nearby settlements (Somerville Place and Nordhagen Beach).

Tried the Town Gavel and 'scrap everything', which makes it so the lights in the distance die out as the settlement objects are scrapped (nevermind that, it was a spotlight that swung its arc in the opposite direction and I mistook this for it being scrapped) but I still CTD when I try to approach, or use 'coc <name of cell>' from the console. Any advice? Is this recoverable or should I write those settlements off for this playthrough? Neither is in an area with overlapping nearby settlements (Somerville Place and Nordhagen Beach).

Try this...
Got to Home plate.. alone.
Open the console & run:
cqf kgsim_cpmanager ForceClearSettlement 1e81ea
Which is for Somerville Place.
Close the console, open the Pip-Boy Radio tab and let the game set for 20 minutes.
Close the Pip-Boy, Save.. Exit the game and then fire it back up and load the save.
That should destroy the City Plan and you can then rebuild it. IF the cell hasn't been corrupted.

This is for Nordhagen (Do NOT run this until you have done the above! Then just repeat the steps above)

Using all the latest patches and only cheat menu as the only non ss plugin (PC).
Had to return to level 3 Finch Farm to kill some gunners. Noticed the slanted sign, some walls and stairway to heaven. Also got new leader message???? So did a refresh as in santuary, abernathy etc. But this time after city refresh there where no foundations or walls stairs etc at all. Waited more than 1 1/2 hrs. saved and came back. Decided to start city from level 0 again, and foundations came back. Is anyone else still getting this. Have had the usual bits of plot in various locations as well. Will i have to go through all my citys and refresh? Just worried i might have to start from level 0 again!.
But i think i will change Santuary for a new city design.(sorry Kinggath, like the plan, but just crashes too many times)...

Thanks for the tip. Apologies if I missed script documentation somewhere, new to this forum. Unfortunately, it didn't work in my case - script ran and dumped a bunch of objects into my inventory, but it would still CTD if I approached on foot, fast-travelled, or COC'd to either settlement. Tried a tool called FO4 Cell Ripper that could supposedly reset cells back to their vanilla state, but couldn't get it to run (is an abandoned mod now, apparently). Reverted to a manual save from 8 play-hours before (ugh) and was able to get in... Somerville in particular was this Escher-esque, giant, crazy tower of windmills built on top of each other at insane angles way up into the sky. I'd heard building over a certain height can sometimes corrupt saves, so maybe that's what happened.Town gavel scrapped both, waited, and made a new manual save, hopefully I can continue on from there. Should I run that kgsim_cpmanager ForceClearSettlement script from Home Plate after the town gavel scrap, or is that pointless? The script warned me to do the town gavel scrap afterwards if I could get back into the cell, but not sure if it's necessary going the other way around.
Definitely going to avoid city plans/NPC mayors going forward, every one I've tried has been heartache for me.

Edit: N/m, kept getting the new leader message every time I would arrive at newly-desolated Nordhagen (re-assigning the leader I had assigned previously), so I'm gonna go to an earlier save and blast them both out with that script and then the gavel, see if that fixes it. Appreciate the help, crossing my fingers.
