Alternative to Nexusmods?

Given current reaction to moves by NexusMods - including some of the contest entrants pulling their plans - is there any thought on alternative locations that plans can be published for contest entry which would be outside the NexusMods umbrella?
Could Google drive hosting or uploading to BethNet be accepted for this month?

Sorry, I've spent the last hour looking, but I can't seem to find anything about Nexus doing anything anywhere. Could I trouble you to fill me in on what's up?
I, too, am wondering exactly what has happened and why people are hesitant to continue posting to Nexus. I've never actually posted anything there, but would like to know what's going on before I do since that seemed to be the preferred platform...

So, there’s a couple of things that are causing ill-will:
1) the stealthy way they made the change, trying not to attract notice
2) The inability to remove old mod versions means authors cannot pull game-breaking content down, even if this is due to a game update outside of their control. This has reputational implications for authors, and could result in impacts on donations or patreon support long term.

I have had to battle 900 pound gorilla's in court once over my IP and don't want to have to do it again. But this has already caused many major mod authors to jump ship and it going to get worse. I will continue to use Nexus only until I find an alternative. If it wasn't for the Kinggath News video promoting mine and @Tharatan s city plans I wouldn't be using it any more.

I've come to my own decisions regarding how to approach Nexus as a result of these changes.

I myself have done something similar but A Lot less detailed. I feel the same when it comes to support issues.

You can always try LoversLab. I just wish the site provided the metadata and links to download to the mods with NMM/Vortex and put them into their proper categories and help it check for new versions.

I'd rather stop modding than going to LL.

I have no clue if the site is actually good or usable, but ModDB exists and has a Fallout 4 category, even if it's almost empty:

There pretty much aren't any superb alternatives to Nexus.

It's very hard to find mods on there(for games with more files) other than directly getting there via specific google search or direct link, mod categorization within a game is next to non existent. And I believe they have had the same archival policy(which may be standard among file hosts) & infinite license. Far fewer users there as well.

What if I told you, that there is a site far, far worse that LL. One so bad that LL refuses to deal with them. And that they are trying to recruit mods to leave Nexus and join them right now. A site so bad, that just visiting it may be illegal in your country. It exists. and LL is far, far, far more preferable.

I would say that having an even worse alternative to something doesn't make it better. ;) What are people's thoughts around CurseForge - they have support for Skyrim mods on there already, which means they're set up to deal with Bethesda games. Haven't looked at their TOS/archival policies yet, however.

They only appear to support Classic Skyrim, and not Skyrim SE. Browsing in their website for Skyrim mods was not implemented well.

** Edited to Add. It appears that Twitch sold them to some company called Overwolf. No idea who they are.

Ugh curseforge. Isn't it still requiring a twitch account to use?

@Tharatan (Overwolf - Owning company of CurseForge) Terms of Service:

Yes, and also the TOS is pretty similar to NexusMods.

LoversLab seems to have the most modder friendly TOS out of these, at least in terms of the archiving / infinite use issue. They apparently do have a "Regular Mods - These Fallout 4 mods are of a non-adult nature." section. But in any cases too, there will also be fewer users.
