Patch 2.0.2 - Get Extended is now live!

Had to rollback after updating to 2.0.2b. Whenever I attempt to go to my starlight drive settlement I immediately CtD (fast travel and approaching on foot). The culprit appears to be Old Pauls clothing according to the Buffout crash report. Specifically:
  • Materials\SS2\Clothes\OldPaul\Raider04.BGSM
  • Meshes\SS2\Clothes\OldPaul\OldPaulM.nif
Other than Fallout.exe, these are the only files that continuously show up in the Stack portion of my crash log.
Also, not sure if this is relevant, but I'm using Mod Organizer 2 portable and it seems to be looking for Old Pauls clothing in the default game directory.
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Common\Fallout 4\Data\Materials\SS2\Clothes\OldPaul\Raider04.BGSM
I'm not sure if that is normal behavior for MO2's virtual file system or not, but my files are not located in the default \Fallout 4\Data\ location.
Since the last update this material file won't open correctly (Fallout 4\Data\Materials\SS2\Clothes\OldPaul\Raider04.BGSM) in the material editor. It produces an error, which is causing the crashes. Meaning any area or scene where Old Paul is present will CTD. As stated by OldBlindDog the previous version of the material file opens/works fine.

Steam install.
Crash 10 times or so, adjusting mods and now reloading ss2 and chapter 2. Not activating extended. Can't get into the vault before crashes, I am removing most other mods, even ones I have used for weeks.

How do i roll back to the previous version? When i updated to 2.0.2b i deleted the 2.0.2a archive. ( Correction, meant to say it was the 2.0.1a archive i deleted. My bad. Must have had a brain fart. happens once in a while when you get to be my age..lol )

You should be able to get it from the Nexus page if you scroll down to "old files." You may have to look through carefully, because (for me at least) the "old files" section does not appear to be sorted by version. I do see 2.0.2a listed, though.

Found the previous versions on nexus and rolled back to 2.0.1a main and 2.0.1 for chapter 2. Fixed the CTD problem for me. I don't know if the problem is with the 2.0.2 extended patch or just the 2.0.2b update. When i previously updated it was to 2.0.2b main and 2.0.2a for chapter 2.

Since the newest SS2 comes with the 'extended' package, I'm assuming those that downloaded and activated the separate 'extended' prior to 2.0.1ish- removed it? If not, that could be causing a reference conflict of sorts and resulting in a crash? Just taking a pot-shot guess...

If you're referring to the crash with Old Paul (corrupt material file) it's located in the main SS2 base files (SS2 - Main.ba2) not SS2 extended (which downloads with SS2 but it's files are still separate) or Chapter 2.

I am about done, version PC number 48 will not even work longer enough to get me to the vault, at all.

Any ideas, or are yall just tired of me complaining?

Getting the exact same issue here too, Paul needs to wash his damn clothes!

To his majesty @kinggath, I wonder if you might possibly, maybe, consider streamlining the base mod, as well as the chapters, and put off for a while updates, patches and work on Chapter 3? I think the radroaches are proliferating...

Most of this tech stuff is way over my head so will explain as best i can. Yeah, that's what I am referring to. Was running SS2 version 2.0.1a and SS2C2 version 2.0.1 previously with no problems. Updated to SS2 version 2.0.2b and SS2C2 version 2.0.2a. and the crash started. so rolled back to the two previous versions i was running. As far as the corrupt material file. It must not have been present in 2.0.1a but i wouldn't know how to look for it, or even what i would be looking for.

you guys use synth production mod?
kinda need help ik this topic doesn't relate to it but idk what to do...can't find any fixs or even anything that list conflicts for it

So, I slow-traveled (a.k.a "walked") into Sanctuary, found Old Paul sleeping, and used "openactorcontainer 1" to swap some new clothes into his inventory and dress him. I now seem to be able to fast-travel into Sanctuary without issues.

Let's say no more that the only outfit I had on me at the time was a Laundered Blue Dress. I've already apologized to the poor guy.

Update: Since it was SS2 version 2.0.2b i initially updated to from version 2.0.1a, I Thought i would try installing SS2 version 2.0.2a along with the SS2C2 version 2.0.2a updates. So far, after doing so i can fast travel or walk to starlight and be in the vicinity of Old Paul without any issues. So, just guessing of course, but based on this, the problem must be with the SS2 2.0.2b patch itself.
