Why no 301 redirect on the forum/site?

As a previous webmaster and website designer for a few years now i was just wondering why this site has not implemented a 301 redirect.. Using that will remove the 'ugly' index.php? from all of your links.
I.e. with a 301 redirect this > https://simsettlements.com/site/index.php?forums/read-me-first.7/ becomes this > https://simsettlements.com/site/forums/read-me-first.7/

It wasn't a high priority at the time. Our goal was to build the platform for our community which we have done. Currently there are no plans to change servers so search engine optimization isn't a worry in the foreseeable future. The site also collects no ad revenue which would also be a reason for the use of a 301R in the case of search optimization. The only logical reason I can see for implementing a 301R right now would be for aesthetic purposes. If @kinggath finds the spare time and wants to prepare for it I am sure he will. I wont change anything that requires a server restart/reset because I'm not local and therefore cant fix a local problem if I cause one. Yay typos !
