I'm having to do it this way as the previous thread is now locked and I can't reply with the information requested.
The original post - https://www.simsettlements.com/site...ad-minuteman-storyline-break.9137/#post-64419

The quest is titled - Taking Point: Warwick Homestead. The objective is - Clear Warwick Homestead. The description is, roughly - Minutemen scouts have found a new settlement but it is overrun with hostiles. Preston has asked me to clear it out to setup a beacon.

It is the only quest I have involving the Warwick Homestead.

ok, hummm.

What I do when this happens:

1. GoTo: https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Greenskins "I am assuming it is Greenskins" if it is a different quest the see 6 below it will likly be a different console command.
2. look at the Bugs section and it will give you an idea of what you are looking for in finding a console command to complete the MM quest. "it is likely a setstage command"
3. If the quest is one of these then click on it from the link above and they list console commands you can try to complete them.

4. Anytime you do this, I'll say it anyway "save the game and roll back until you find the right quest and console command to mark it complete.

5. In reading a few of them you might get lucky just trying "setstage MinRecruit04 200 or setstage MinRecruit04 100" as they seem to be the general command for that quest line. hahahaha, but I am seldom that lucky. and assuming it is the Greenskins one and not the kidnapping or something else?

6. If kidnapping:
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Kidnapping

7: If something else, here are the rest:
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_4_settlements
You need to go to the list of settlements and find the one you are having problems with and resource the console command from there. hint "that is one page to bookmark" :bye

Good luck. This is very much a vanilla game bug, I hope this helps. it's 4am and I should have gone to bed long ago. :lazy

Just to add to what @RayBo posted......

If you open up the console and type sqt that will bring up a list of current missions.
To find exactly which one you want, for example, type help MinRecruit04 4 that will give you the details of the mission to help make sure you've selected the right one.

You can then run the set stage commands as Raybo said above.

@RayBo - It is none of those. It is as I thoroughly described. The Minutemen have declared Warwick Homestead as hostile. The entire settlement. Before I have even been there in this new Conqueror playthrough. I have had several starts, with 2 full completions, of Fallout 4 (I have had multiple starts but only 2 completions because mods keeping breaking quests or the entire game with invisible walls and floors). In no previous playthrough of mine did the Minutemen declare any of civilian established settlements as hostile.

@Phil_T_Casual - I did that too. None of the quests returned had the appropriate quest code.

Ok, I hesitate here but it sounds like you know what you are doing.

I have no other suggestions and no idea what may cause it. But have you tried: Kah

it is like the killall command, I haven't had your glitch before so being just a player myself not a modder I would try that. If it works - they will be gone so mark your save.

Then use WS/FW to take the settlement.

+ no idea if the protected status will take precedence over this command? I never use killall or kah unless I am speed testing a mod for someone else and always have reverted those saves.

I have read both posts: " And as I am trying to align this settlement with the Minutemen I wouldn't want to kill the Warwicks."

"it is what it is" I know my last suggestion contradicts what you want to do but that is all I got.

Sorry-Man! :unknw

I do appreciate the fast replies, comments, and recommendations. :agree:

While not a modder, I have been modding since Fallout 3. I even have printouts of all the console commands and usage for quick reference while in game.
That's what's making this glitch so frustrating, I can normally solve my way around these things. I even tried multiple approaches before submitting my first post.

I know I could unmark June Warwick as essential and slaughter everyone. Maybe. I've never tried and don't know, if because of their Race, if a child can be made unessential. I know there are killable children mods for Skyrim, but I'm not sure about Fallout 4.

And even if I did, all the downstream quests from there would be broken. At that point, as broken as that location would be, I don't know if it would be able to made a settlement.
In the long run, I might have to sacrifice the location to continue the Minutemen storyline. I was just hoping to avoid that.

Yeah, we’re getting each other. You are tracking, “spot on with my concerns”.

Maybe someone else will chime in?

To quote Hancock, “I feel - ya” it’s the pain of a modded FO4 game. The glitch game is more a more challenging game than the one than the actual one we play.

Still, glad you reported and we tried. There is a value in all this.

So the Warwick's are all hostile when you go there? Wow that is strange.

There's 3 ways I can think of to fix this that you've probably already thought of yourself, but just incase......

1. Go back to an earlier save and go to warwick and do their missions before you get the minute men quest.
2. Go to warwick and turn off the AI before they become hostile and take ownership of the workbench with commands. I would thread carefully with this though.
3. Go to the atom cats and take their mission that sends you to warwick, it's possible that they won't be hostile then.

I just tried using the setessential command to make June non-essential, and thus killable. I'm using the command correctly, using her correct id (0003f236), setting it 0 and not getting any error prompt. But she refuses to die. Her health basically goes to 1 and she hits the ground or floor and then simply gets back up. No type of weapon kills her, obviously. I don't know if it because June is also a merchant, maybe they are a separate Race. IDK.
The same holds true for Wally. Except Wally takes no damage or falls. He does however get marked hostile using Recon scopes.

@Phil_T_Casual - The Warwicks are not hostile when I get there. That's how I was able to start the initial dialog with Roger Warwick as mentioned in the very first post linked to in the op of this thread.
An interesting side note - there is no quest indicator given when I first arrive. With any assassination quest the main target(s) are highlighted with quest markers. June only gets marked after I kill Roger, Janey & Bill Sutton.

And while going back to previous saves and doing all Warwick related quests beforehand would get me the XP, the very next mission from Preston Garvey is the same "Kill All Warwicks" (officially - Taking Point: Warwick Homestead). Which can not be completed as all Warwicks can not be killed. Thus again breaking any advancement in the Minutemen questline. And he only gives that assignment as the next Minutemen mission.

Just remembered this, on my arrival (not via fast travel) the new Conqueror civilian NPCs will intermittently attack and kill each other. I've yet to see it. But I hear the moans and outcries and will come across dead bodies in the large residential structure. There are no animals/insects, raiders or other hostiles there.

And the Rad Chickens will get marked as hostile using Recon scopes.
Maybe they are the ones killing human NPCs?!?!?!?

@Lureman Did you do a prebuilt City Plan from Conqueror at Warwick?

I left everything at the default settings. I didn't change any plans. So whatever was set for Warwick is what I went with.

Is there a City Plan there? ie. when you first showed up, is there a bunch of stuff there?

If so, Warwick may have been one that suffered from an old bug with a duplicate workbench.

If you open the console and click on the workbench, the 8 digit ID at the top of your console should start with 00, if it starts with FF instead, this means it did in fact have a duplicate workbench. Run the command disable to remove the duplicate. Then try activating the one that will be underneath the one you just disabled.

If that doesn't work, use Workshop Framework, either via the MCM menu, or its holotape (which you can craft at a chem workbench). It has a tool called Claim This Settlement, to allow you to take a settlement directly.

Yes, there is a City plan there. Inside the main building is a City Plan desk.
The ID did start with FF. While disable did drop the FF workbench and show the 00 workbench, enable made no difference.

I ended up using SetLocationCleared. That completed the first stage of the quest, gave me ownership and progressed the quest to the 2nd stage. Where it got further interesting. Stage 2 was setting up the Minutemen recruitment beacon. On opening the workshop it showed 0 people, 0 beds, 0 power, 0, water, 0 food, 0 defenses - all of the settlement requirements showed 0 in a settlement already thoroughly inhabited and built-out.
I went ahead and added all of the requirements, at which point I wondered if the new turrets would engage the SimSettlements ones. They did not. I just wonder what will happen when the first Minutemen patrol goes in. I assume nothing as the settlement should be marked friendly now.

Anyhow, I now can progress on the Minutemen storyline as Preston Garvey assigned the Taking Independence quest.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and help.:agree:

Included is a screenshot of what Warwick Homestead looked like at my first arrival.
