KG's stream got me thinking about another potential cheat. Summoning specific unique settlers. There's no foolproof way to get specifically the people you want (even what you roughly want most of the time), and if we're to, for example, skip the entirety of chapters 1 and 2 to play chapter 3, HQ would probably still need to be staffed. So you can sort of "quick start" your settlement network by using a ton of city plans and spawning settlers in, but that doesn't include quality staff. Also after a number of playthroughs it's super annoying to go to the Ron every time, grab one lead on a mostly random settler and chase them around. Whoever suggested to give them a spot in the wild as another option to recruit (if it's dangerous and high level or quest required, I don't care) - you're right. Like, make Archon show up in the cage on top of Kingsport. Have Monty Phylon occupy Beantown Brewery after the Travis quest. Archibald and Treadwell could roam the southeast corner of the map. Or anything like that.
