I am running
Workshop framework V 2.0.8a
Sim settlements 3-1 429b
Conqueror 429a

If I disable conqueror and start a new game with these console commands
setgs iHoursToClearCorpses 2
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadComplexTotalActorCount 1
setgs iRemoveExcessDeadTotalActorCount 1

Bodies vanish in seconds.

with conqueror running these have no effect, even if I sleep somewhere far away for days.

Additional info, The roaches in vault 111 will still vanish with conqueror running.
I am not using prebuilts

You said that using Tidy Bot makes the problem bigger. How so?

Yes, I agree that when the corpses pile up it seems to slow things down on console. Settlement Tidy bot seems to have completely solved that for me.
Wondering that also I specifically used tidy bot with no issues with conquers, my understanding is tidy bot just runs the cleanup script when it finds a dead body. That shouldn’t break anything as far as I know.

Probably no issue with conqueror npcs since they are spawned through scripts but if you scrap an NPC from a mod that manually placed that respawnable npc, that npc will no longer be able to respawn for the rest of the save, as an example say you kill an npc from the mod NPCs travel in your settlement and its not going away, if you scrap that corpse, the npc is gone forever, this could have happened to you already and you just haven't noticed because it doesn't really cause crashes or anything but it is an issue down the line..

And regardless, this shouldn't be happening anyway, save bloat is crazy with too many corpses this is well known through bethesda games

Ok I get that explanation so it only would effect mod added npc with a specific reference in that mod. That’s a bummer I thought the tidy bot just ran the standard npc cleanup script when it came to a dead body didn’t know it was doing something different.
