To use the Marketplace Trading via Caravan Plot, do I have to wait until Ch.3?

Title. I remember that I could use the Marketplace Trading before reaching Ch.3 during one of my previous play-throughs.

In recent play-through, I cannot, because somehow, any kind of Empire Production is recognized as 0.
Note that currently, my play-through is still at Ch.1.

I would heartily appreciate for your advice. Thanks in advance!

For those of you using Storywealth - can you try something for me please?

I don't know if your collection adds settlements or pre-owned settlements as you start up - I'm not familiar with it at all.

That being said, what is your main SS2 settlement, i.e the one where Jake showed up initially and where the quests took place. Are you still having the same trade agreement problem there?

Hi,

same problem here. I thought something got messed up or whatever on my last playthrough a couple of weeks ago but in this exact one it still is the same.
( not in chapter 3 / shipment possible / "commit trade agreement" sends me back to the resource selction )
stories of the commonwealth + harcore resource management
Thanks for your information! This kind of reassured me. Why, I am not alone after all!

OK, so here is my situation.

1. Jake shows up in Sanctuary. So presumably, the Capital City must be Sanctuary.

2. The Storywealth does not add much of settlements. As far as I can tell, here is the list.
(1) Depravity - Falon Headquarter, or something like that.
(2) Gun for Hire - Gun for Hire Office.
For my case, there is another one (not included in the Storywealth but its add-on)
(*) Abandoned Hub
However, just let you know that I have not acquired any of them so far.

Thank you for the information. Myself and CaptainLaserBeam briefly discussed this issue with kinggath yesterday.

Since it is not replicable in a test environment, there has to be some kind of conflict going on - otherwise I would have been able to experience it. CLB is not using Storywealth, but perhaps some other mod that makes changes we are unaware of, that happen to have the same outcome.

kinggath mentioned that he will likely change when trade agreements trigger in order to compensate for issues like this. I can't give you an ETA on when such a change may be made here - but wanted to inform you that the concern has been raised and is on the radar, and a possible solution is being considered. Thank you for all the information you have provided us.

Thank you so much for your information. I am glad that your team as a whole is now aware of this issue.
Also, I feel thankful to be able to hear the situation in the CaptainLaserBeam's end. So CaptainLaserBeam is not using the Storywealth. Interesting.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to hear an update about this issue! Once again, thank you for your kind support!

@twolargepepperoni This might be the issue - I do not use storywealth, but I DO use Abandoned Hub. And I think you are given immediate ownership of abandoned hub at game start - that definitely could be what is causing the issue since what is supposed to be triggering the trade agreements is the first settlement you establish and if one is already granted to you, like abandoned hub, then abandoned hub would become your capital city.

I am not sure about this one.

In this playthrough, I use the Abandoned Hub, but in my previous playthrough, I did not.
Even in my previous playthrough, I actually had the same issue.

As @twolargepepperoni has said - it's not replicable with a minimal load order though, so it's more likely a common mod conflict than it is a bug. If there are any mods that grant you a settlement immediately (this would potentially include a player home) then that first settlement becomes your capital city. If it's not linked via caravans then it would always show no resources.

I just checked my list of settlements. All of them are vanilla ones and the Abandoned Hub (or any other settlement added by MOD) is not included.
Therefore, I do not think this is caused by "where is the Capital City" issue.

Hi,
I got rid of "guns for hire" since it shares it's entrance with the nightingales and as far as i can tell the game runs much smoother since then.

In the case of possible conflicting ( especially with player houses ) mods I also run "vault 120"; "interior navcut fix"; "phase 4 institute Expansion"; "SS2" ( seperated installs, not the AIO ); "South of the sea - Atom storm". But the thing is that i only had vanilla settlements and Jake engaged me in Sanctuary. Maybe it is worth mentioning that I also havent used SS2 cheats so i can't even choose a capital so it has to be Sanctuary by default.
Other mods as well but i dont know if they might conflict with SS2.

Edit: Even if it is a problem to get the trading running a fix in form of making glass and bones convertable via buildings would be such a help since my stash needs constant expanding because it is flooding and trashing all of it's capicity and all converter/production pretty much use the same important resources the buildings already need.
For instance bone instead of wood for fertilizer because there's always a short on wood and just getting building materials to get wood and steel ( to convert it into wood ) makes you fill up the stash with nonsense materials.

I am not sure I should be the one to say this, but thank you so much for your information! Let's hope the next update will address this issue, and it will come out soon (considering the next gen update and the confusion that followed, I am not sure if it will be ready any time soon, though).

Anyway, I noticed you are having several issues concerning MOD conflicts and what not. This may be completely unnecessary since you might have figured out by yourself, but here are some advice.

1. Gun For Hire and SS2: There are multiple compatibility patches for these two. Yes, "multiple". I currently use this one since it is included in the Storywealth.

2. Bone and other scraps with not much use. This is exactly the reason why I started to care about not being able to use the Marketplace Trading. I have searched through various add-ons but there is not much add-ons that include conversion plot in them, let alone those using bone and other not-much-usable scraps.
The solution I can come up with is to use "Excess Resource Manager". This enables you to throw away scraps from the Virtual Storage.
Also, if you proceed the SS2 further, at one point you will become being able to use scraps in the Virtual Storage for your workbench crafting. So, if you install a MOD that enables you to create a shipment of scrap, you can reduce scraps in the Virtual Storage and also use them for earning some caps.

I look up if there's a "bug" section in the forum and link this thread cause i've encountered some other issues.

Thank you for the excess dumping mod it will be included right away. But i look forward to pull all the bone out of the virtual container later on because you can craft ammunition with it :)
