Time between "War is Good For Business" and "End of the Beginning"

Jake talks about it like it's been a long time in the pre-recorded radio signal, but for me in this save just now (version 2.0.0k), said signal came up before the "quest complete" thing for "War is good for business" had even faded from my screen - hadn't even left THE RON's place or had time to actually gather my allies.
Isn't there meant to be a delay, presumably 3 ingame days?

Additional info: I went and gathered the two allied factions I was intending (Institute and Minutemen) and neither are present now that I've made it to the meet-up site. I am guessing that once "End of the Beginning" is in your quest log, any ally-recruiting you do no longer counts?

Speaking of the radio signal, Jake's private signal (which is completely silent) is still here with a miscellaneous quest telling you to listen to it is still in my pip-boy

It does that for me too sometimes, but I'm trying to keep threads to be on topic so the higher-ups can see the issues more easily instead of everything all scattered around and mixed together.

For the recruiting allies for the End of the Beginning, actually, you should have joined any of the factions that you want and done a few of their quests before "Martial Law" to qualify your relationship with the faction.
In "War is Good for Business", Jake suggests you recruit your allies before he asks you to escort Lupe to The Ron's.
Interesting fact: If you take Lupe with you to ask for their help, she'll have some responses to the faction leaders. (well except for the Institute - I didn't try taking her there -- molecular relay/Institute access thing.)
The recruit your allies miscellaneous quest should put a flag on any factions that you've met the requirements to ask for their help.
Their assistance will be different depending on how far you've progressed the faction quests. As a To Do, I will confirm those and post them to the quest guide.

If you can only successfully ask them for help before "End of the Beginning" activates, then why didn't the quest markers on (in this case) Preston and Father disappear at that point? They still had their special dialog for asking for troops - I was already progressed to the point that I could ask both of them long before that, it all appeared to activate correctly, but then nobody showed up at the Battle.

And my point remains - isn't there meant to be some kind of time passing between those two quests anyway? The way Lupe talks about it, it'll take her a while to modify/update the blueprints THE RON provides, at least longer than it takes to walk back to THE RON's front door.

I remember it came up pretty quickly for me when I last played through. I'm going to be starting another play with 2.0k
I agree there should be a pause before the End of the Beginning comes up - some time to prepare for battle.
With the End of the Beginning in my quest log, I could still go ask the factions for help. I don't know why your quest markers disappeared.:sad

I must have mis phrased something.
They DIDN'T disappear. I could still ask Preston and Father for reinforcements. But none showed up.

oooh, could be I misread too == old eyes.
I can't answer that one either. Everyone showed up for me when I did it, except for the NIghtingales who I didn't ask. Gremlins in the code :pilot

Approximately the same situation with the additional quest to hire any faction at the end of the quest - The war is useful for business. I have two factions in which I have advanced on their quests , the Minutemen and the Brotherhood of Steel . It is unclear exactly when, at what point (in the pause between the two main quests of the second chapter) it is necessary to activate the help from the factions. Approached Garvey P. , - agreed and the quest remained hanging in different . The Brotherhood of Steel ( even though I am a member of their faction) does not have a marker so that it can be said - a dialogue for recruitment. I apologize for the broken English . Have you solved this problem somehow ? Please unsubscribe if you don 't mind .

I am stuck on the misc mission "recruit your allies for the attack on Gunner Plaza" .I'm sided with the Institute and end the main story and now that quest points me out to Preston and X6-88. While i'm going to talk to X6 he asks me "Ready for the next mission ?" .Anyway i let him join me and then when i talk to him for help to attack Gunner Plaza he agrees to help but the quest doesn't end. How can i bypass this quest with the console please someone knows ? Or is this a known bug and what can i do ? It's so frustrating...It's the fifth playthrough and i always stuck on this "non essential but forced to accept quest"

Do not be afraid, the mission to hire a faction as an aid will automatically end when you arrive at the meeting place to the shooters' building for further assault. But I am worried about something else , I have progressed through the quests of the Brotherhood , it seems to me enough ( knighted ) but I can't hire them, for some reason as assistants for storming the building of shooters, only Minutemen ...... strange....

As i can see to trigger "the end of the beginning" i have to listen to "Jake's private frequency" which after 3+ days i haven't received any message about this, so yeah i confirm that's a bug.It looks if i end the main story i can't proceed to this.

Ok, rolledback when Father was alive and 3 real hours of game to get to the mission "War is good for business" plus the "Recruit your allies for the attack on Gunner Plaza", I've talked to the Father now and Preston afterwards and while still the first main quest is completed the misc quest is there and stops me to proceed to the main quest, did "Escort Lupe to the Ron" as well. Is there a modder here to move this please to "bugs" section ?? This is serious people. I have repeated the ss2 quests 4 times so far it got me bored, thank you anyway, going back to ss1 until (and if) ss2 gets stable :(

In the current release, if you have gone back to Concord Hardware after recruiting your allies, and notified Jake and Aiden that you are ready to attack GNN, you should get a message on Jake's Private Frequency in 48 in-game hours.

Negative. I've been stuck with this for the last several months. I ripped it apart in FO4Edit and couldn't figure it out. I've disabled waves of my other mods and still nothing. Even trying to skip ahead to the end of the story is not working. It will complete every quest up to war is good for business, then nothing after. It's like the quests aren't even in the game. I've redownloaded the game several times, it's up to date. I've even tried the forbidden force skips via console on other play throughs. I've tried listening to the greyed out Jake's frequency and gone to gunners plaza to see if it would start.

After war is good for business completes, that's it.
