I don't want to seem weird or anything, but will there be more romance options in CH3? Id est, Lupe, Aiden, Theresa, Mansfield?:todd:
Probably no new Romances in Chapter 3's main release, but I’m hoping we can get some quest content out post release. It’s stuff I’ve got on the back burner, but how things go after release will dictate whether we see any more romances I think.

And regarding Lupe, have no fear! She is indeed over “legal age” by US standards, but she is still kinda young. So -IF- there is a romance with her, and I stress -IF-, I’ll be relying on you guys not to make it creepy. I’m trusting you...

How... creepy are we talking?

"So, Lupe... that mod we did on the settlement beacons... was that good for you?" :grin

How would the Department heads interact with some of the unique settlers? I imagine, for example Mansfield would often hide from Gremlin, especially during her "prototype tests".
Aiden teaching Sneake who's boss; Lupe talking about robots with Alan Walsh and FIDO; Raven getting Cassandra's help to get Crow clean and she acts a bit like a mother figure for them.
So many fun ideas!

Ooh! I finally thought of another question.
With some of the characters you have named, were they mostly random or did you have any inspirations? I literally just found out today that the person who wrote Easy Living is a man named Preston Sturges lol

I'd bet there was a bigger quest than that. There's no reason for them to be in the museum other than player convenience? Unless it was a jamaica plains kind of setup where they just showed up basic stuff that was somewhat useful at the time.

From memory, in SS1 there was a computer terminal there in the Concord Museum Of Freedom next to the pile of boxes of ASAMs, with entries about them having somehow been sent a shipment worth of them by management and the person writing had no idea what to even do with them - something along those lines.
I remember there was a cache of them tucked away in the "Boston Mayor's Shelter" in SS1 too (there's no easter egg there in SS2 sadly) with them having explicitly bought a box of them to have for using Post War.

I'm not entirely sure how much if any of that 'lore' is still valid as of SS2, though. (although it would nicely explain where Jake got his fully functional computer terminal too, since it's implied he's been set up in Concord for quite a while - at least, since before Preston And Pals showed up which the base game suggests is at most mere days before The Player woke up)

Precisely! That is my headcanon, anyway.

Perhaps he already had heard of the ASAMs, and maybe The Ron put him on the trail of the cache in Concord.

This is purely a theory lol:

I always wondered if The Ron helped in some way since Jake has a box of pre-war shipping receipts in the hardware store from Wicked Shipping (indicating the Comm Hub, and pointing us towards Olivia next), and that always seemed to me like something The Ron would have sold to Jake. The guy who wrote the note seems familiar with ASAMs (but that could just be me autistically seeing into things way too much), I think I assumed that Jake found some ASAM boxes there when he went to investigate this delivery. It's not far from Concord, so it's not hard for me to imagine him carrying some boxes back to the store to tinker. And he has a map in his store with various locations, including potential other ASAM sources, which again seems to me like something The Ron may have provided knowledge on... I could be talking out of my butt though.

I have a handful of theories/ideas floating around my head re: Jake first finding ASAMs and I'd love to know the * real * one!

I like that. Throwback to millions of water chips in vault 8 (yes, I got my hands on fallout 1 and 2) ?

I still haven't played ss1... That's really interesting that you find them in the museum!
Yes and another set of them over at West Everett Estates - so definitely interesting way that tied into SS2. I remember my first time playing SS2 I ran to the location where they originally were in the museum and all that's there is that burned ASAM magazine where the sensors used to be, letting everyone who played SS1 know that this time it was going to be different.

I like the idea that The Ron led him to find the ASAMs.
If you read The Ron's terminal, the first info request Jake made was anything about his ex-wife and daughter. Since the trail ran cold in Diamond City, that could be how he first found him, made the request and then discussed with him about what to do next.
The Ron, hearing about what Katelyn was looking for (the best settlement) remembers the records he has about the sensors and they come up with the plan to build the best settlement, using the sensors.

Good old Repository Of Nowledge.

The answer to that is better known by those who play the mod! I don't have too much in-depth knowledge of many of our settler characters.

A little from column A, a little from column B. I tend to get more inventive with side characters who's name you perhaps never even hear. But from our main cast...

Jake Evans: Originally called "James King" when I joined the SS2 team. One of the first things I did was find a name close to it that the Player character speaks out loud. I ended up going with "Jake". Evans comes from "Rich Evans" One of the members of RedLetterMedia.

Lupe de la Fuente: Name comes from the character of "Lupe" from the game Grim Fandango, because I like that game. "de la Fuente", because I think it sounds nice and also holds a few vague hints about her past.

Cedric Mansfield: Just pulled out of the air. I wanted something that sounded a little pompous and self important.

Theresa Fortunato: "Theresa" because I like the name, and same with the surname!

Algernon: Partly because I think it's a cool name, partly after a side character from the show ReBoot.

Malcolm Berman: First name was originally "Morecambe", after the English comedy duo "Morecambe and Wise". However Gath suggested an American audience may be confused by the name "Morecambe" so I changed it to Malcolm. Berman because it sounds a little mean, and also after "Rick Berman", producer of the old Star Trek shows.

"Old" Paul Jones: "Paul" because the Player character speaks the name, "Jones" because I thought is suited him!

Stodge: Because he fits many meanings of that word.

Hubert: I thought it sounded funny.

Wise: See above, also named after the English comedy duo "Morecambe and Wise".

Apologies if this was answered in game and I've forgotten but when and where did Jake find the ASAMs?
Answer to that can be found in 'The Ron's terminal client records. And perhaps in future content...
