Submission Guidelines for the Sim Settlements 2 Wiki

Please use this forum only for submitting potential content for the Sim Settlements 2 Wiki. This is not a forum for requesting content be generated by others. The Wiki Moderation Team is small and thus it’s impossible for us to generate all of the content that players may request on our own.

Our goal with the Sim Settlements 2 Wiki is to help as many people as possible experience Sim Settlements 2, have a great time playing with it, and feel like we as a team and community are here to help and support them as they do so. If you want to contribute to achieving that goal, congratulations! You’re in the right place!

In order to contribute to the Sim Settlements 2 Wiki, please post a draft of your submission in this forum. Our Wiki Moderation Team will read and review the submission, and, assuming it’s approved, add your content to the site. It’s important to note that contributions that you make to the Sim Settlements 2 Wiki belong to the community. The Wiki Moderation Team reserves the right to edit all approved submissions for tone, structure, accuracy, and in any other way deemed appropriate by the Team before adding them to the wiki.

We ask that anyone submitting content for consideration please follow the below simple guidelines:
  • No profanity, political topics, or other inappropriate content.
  • No advertising. Please do not include advertisements for your mod(s), other games, etc. If you know of a new addon for Sim Settlements 2 that has not been included in the Wiki, please contact a Staff Member and we’ll review your findings.
  • Maintain a neutral point of view. All of us are here to enjoy Sim Settlements 2, and our Wiki is focused on providing Just the Facts. Please avoid biased comments and viewpoints in your submissions.
  • Be clear. We want to ensure that the Sim Settlements 2 Wiki is accessible and understandable for all users. Please write in clear language. Additionally, since this is a primarily English-language community, your submission needs to be submitted in English.
  • Be as concise as possible—but no more concise. You’ll want to make sure that you cover the content you want to cover in a way that’s direct and straight-forward. Avoid long digressions, jokes, memes, and other extraneous content.
  • Maintain scope and avoid redundancy. Please keep your submission focused on the topic you are trying to cover. Don’t try to summarize the entire mod in a single submission. There’s just too much to cover!
  • Do not contradict existing Wiki content. The Wiki Moderation Team does its best to ensure the accuracy of all content that’s contained in the Wiki. If you are concerned that there may be factual errors in existing Wiki content, please contact a Staff Member and we’ll review your findings.
  • Ensure any information you provide is verifiable, either in-game or, preferably, by looking at the mod’s scripts, files, etc. directly. Wiki submissions should not be based only on guesswork, opinions, and other non-factual information.
Once you feel confident that your submission meets the above criteria, please post it in this forum. Again, the Wiki Moderation Team will read and review the submission, and, assuming it’s approved, add your content to the site. If your submission is not approved for inclusion, a team member will notify you and let you know what the next steps are.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We very much appreciate your help, and look forward to your submissions!
