Stupid Question about Power

Messages

Hey all,

I'm gearing up for my first City Plan and I can't find anything relating to how power works in the City Planner's Toolkit.

Firstly, and most importantly, let me know if I've missed it somewhere and I'll happily go read it all and get on with it.

If that's not the case, how does power work for these city plans?
Do I need to run wires and generators etc as I normally would with a settlement?
Do I use the connectors that generate power from the "Project Blueprint" Resources section?
Is there a different method that I am unaware of?

Thanks in advance for the assist and apologies if I missed the answer somewhere in my research!

Yes you have to give power to anything that requires it, with wires and vanilla generators or powered connectors.
The powered connectors are there to supply power when the generators you are using don't actually give power. Like windmills for example, none of them are actually a power source, they are visual only. So you add a powered connector somewhere along the line to compensate for this.

The reason why you don't see wires in city plans is they don't export properly, the designer still has to run them normally.

Is there a way to leave feedback for Kinggath?
Might be worth adding the power explanation to the City Planner's Toolkit if it isn't in there (Assuming I didn't miss it somewhere).

KG has enough to be doing adding content and squashing bugs.
Now that we have an explanation here, when someone else come else comes along you'll be able to tell them so we don't need it in the tool kit. :)
