SS2 INI Settings?? Not the same as SS1

So I was troubleshooting all day, and I think I may have hit on something. The old suggested SS1 pre-baka, Papayrus settings were hanging out at the end of the my INI files. You know the ones we used to use for SS1:
[Papyrus]
fUpdateBudgetMS=2.4
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=307200

. I had been having allkinds of script complaints, lag, things not proceeding, etc (to the point of turning on logging). On a guess, I ripped em out by the roots, and sure enough the next (my current) playthrough has been smooth. Can we get an "Official" statement if there is any reason to have them any more? If there is what they should be?

I can't give an official statement of course, but I can confirm my game runs smoothly without any INI tweaks, because I am on new machine with a fresh install.

I am running with these settings as well. You bring up a great question! :) I look forward to an answer.

So far my experience in 4 playthroughs is mixed. Sometimes NPCs get assigned before I get a chance to and sometimes they never do.

Overall, I'd say my experience with SS2 is faster and more stable that SS1.

Between Buffout 4 or Baka you don't really need these settings. Both stabilize the engine enough for most scripts to run without issue.
That's really good to know.

Edit- Thinking more about this, doesn't Baka ScrapHeap just increase the script property data limit? I thought it didn't do anything more than bypass a hard coded limit set by the game engine. Thus allowing a SS2 player the ability to load up more addons and city plans.

It does but that mostly all that's needed. However Buffout replaces the whole memory manager.

I knew about this part. There is also the option of disabling the manager in the Buffout 4 settings and using Baka. What I've read on this is about 99% hearsay and BS. I have not found anything official from shad0wshayd3 on the subject. Reading the Buffout 4 posts on the Nexus leads me to believe the early versions of Buffout 4 had problems with the memory management part that have since been resolved.

This is mostly trivial knowledge, but sometimes useful to know.

Buffout 4 had a rough ish start but it’s a very good and useful tweaks mod now that fixes a lot of stuff and logs crashes. also does away with Baka scrap heap , it’s just to bad they don’t have a step by step install video or something. Took me a day to figure out you have to update the 2019 vis requirements or it don’t work.

I got super lucky. Through the pain and suffering of others on this forum, I was able to learn of the pitfalls and was able to avoid them. :giver:
