SS2.esm and SS2.extended causing CTD at menu.

After clicking continue on the menu screen, sometimes the game will crash before the game loads in. Looking at the Buffout file, it seems that SS2.esm and SS2.Extended are causing problems. I'm not sure what I can do to fix this, can someone help me out?
