Spectacle Size & Exporting

So the master's contest is actually my first experience building at Spectacle Island, somehow, and will be only my third time using Transfer Settlements (once I get to that part of the contest, anyway). Since I know the settlement area's spread across what appears to be 2-3 cells, at least and the game doesn't actually load the whole settlement at once, what does that do to Transfer Settlements' ability to do its thing?

I've managed to keep the actual functional part of the settlement contained within one of the "sections" of the island, so I'm not worried about resources/etc, but I'd like to spread decorations and "non-functioning" bits of settlement out to most of the island. Leaving some of the more notable distinguishing features entirely untouched just feels incomplete, to me.

Since I'm just starting to enter the part of the process where I'll need to begin making hard choices about that sort of thing, I figured I'd check now.

Good question. Would be good to get the answer confirmed before getting too far. If others don't know the answer already will be worth a test, will have a play when I get time.

While TS "scans" the items while it's exporting what it's actually doing is coping data that corresponds to the workbench. Once you place an item a record of that is linked to the workbench, so even if it pops out of view it will still be exported.

A good test of this is to place something inside the settlement then pick it up and travel way out beyond the boundaries. TS will throw up a warning if you are to far away for it to be copied during the export.

Just a reminder, make sure you DONT have it installed on your masters save. But test it on a practice save if you need and don't mix those up ;)

Disallowed Mods: Transfer Settlements and Clipboard are not allowed as they allow for importing designs done outside of the timeframe of this contest. The primary reason for this is to avoid people taking designs from other creators and claiming them as their own.

Yep, I've made sure it's not live in this save! Glad to hear it's pulling these directly from the workbench.

I've got so much untapped room in the limit, as I begin decorating.
