Sorta newbie, seeking advice

So, I've played around with SS a bit on XBONE, but my dedication to making great settlements causes significant issues in-game...crashing mainly.

So, to combat this, I'm installing it on my PC. Advice I'm seeking is more of the finer points of settlements I missed out on with the DLC pack releases for FO4. Like, what's the purpose of conveyors and scaffolding?

Also, how do I go about unlocking the SS quests and such that have been added? To this point, I have had most settlements unlocked on the map, all with over 20 people, and never really had a quest pop up or unlock.

I also would like to help out SS, if I'm able. I've always built some pretty unique (in my mind) buildings, and would like to incorporate them into add-ons and such, so if people have a way to show me how, I'd love it.

Finally, if this is in the wrong place, sorry!

I'm also running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti w/ an Intel i5 processor, so if anyone thinks that will cause some issues, please let me know

The wiki has information also. https://simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page. However Kinggath likes to keep some specific official information secret for a while, and let the player discover the details themselves.

To start making buildings the first step would be the Sim Settlements Builder's Tutorial. Start at 00 Creation Kit 101.pdf and work your way through. They are very beginner friendly.

To answer the questions about the DLC stuff, the workshop one added the conveyors and stuff. Those are mostly used to break down or build things in your settlements that you would otherwise have to make or scrap individually.
