Some plot types I am considering making. Input appreciated.

I thought it would be interesting to make a municipal plot that was a radio station. I haven't yet decided what would be airing, perhaps I could work with existing radio mod authors.

I thought some race-specific plots might be interesting. For instance, a plot that attracts children and turns into a school (municipal) or a playground (recreational). Other examples might be a super-mutant soup kitchen (commercial). I am sure we as a community can think of many of these.

Another idea I had was for a plot that is only used by the trade caravans. As a caravan enters into the settlement, a booth in the plot will visually display the types of wares that particular trader sells.

Finally I was thinking of trying to make some new foundation sizes. 1 x 3 for bus / semi-trailer plots. 1 x 4 for boxcar / semi and trailer plots.

I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks.

Interesting ideas for new plots though personally i am leaning towards a martial plot that acts like minutemen artillery

I know there is a big gun that can be unlocked when you get deep enough into SS2 but I don't know if it is artillery or an energy cannon. I have only seen it on the tech tree in the wiki.

With my perspective as an Xbox user, I’m seeing the radio idea and think “how heavy is this add-on gonna be?”.

If you somehow manage to make a school plot that actually attract children that would actually be awesome. It was tried in the past but never ended up working quite as intended from what I seen.

Plots serve as jobs, housing and recreation for the settlers. A plot for trading caravan wouldn’t work, you’re still supposed to assign a settler. Considering there is already a settlement item for caravans, the plot would need to offer something to compensate the loss of a worker.

Foundations are always good

That's effectively just a turret with a person sitting on it, as a Plot. Not a "minutemen artillery" piece.

Awesome idea. Back in the early days I loved this mod OLD WORLD RADIO - BOSTON at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community and it still works pretty well to this day. I don't use it now as I'm still testing mods and compatibility for SS2 but you can definitely check with that author and maybe even have a mini quest with Cadillac Jack, that would be AMAZING.

I did not know there were children in settlements. So far (I've only used SS2) I've never seen but one (through a quest) but the idea is very cool. The school seems particularly good for a "training" of special stats so the children can become proficient in a specific plot type

This would be great as well. You could basically take the Bunker Hill Caravan building and expand that idea into SS2. I believe that building works that way, I've yet to test it, as I want to do it in The Castle to make it a trade hub of sorts but my castle build is in its infancy still.

I personally love the 1x1 plots and would love some more variety on them but I say the more the merrier. Definitely having a nice variety of plot types is a welcomed addition. It would also be great to have interior 1x1 or 1x3 plots for people like me that love to build a floor for commercial/industrial and have the workers live on the second floor.

Very nice ideas. I would do something myself but I have never ever done any modding so I need to start learning first. Probably I'll start with basic expansion of 1x1 residential plots as it seems that might be the least complex task I can start with to learn this

These sound like really great ideas! I kept hoping that Carla would use the recreation plot from Wasteland Ventures that bears her name, but I just build it next to where she stands instead. The only problem with the school or playground plot is that there are rarely any children for settlements, and I don't think you can move any of them. But maybe it can create them as visitors? Personally I'd love to have more recreational plots. I really hate seeing the same ones in every settlement!

I am a noob at modding myself. To date, I only have 2 location alteration mods to my name, and both are in dire need of updates. That being said, KG says it is easy to learn and I have nothing but time on my hands so I figured "Why not?"

Be careful to not make your mods incompatible with some others (for example by expandeding the build border...)
