Missing Collision Sinking Through Floor at Taffington

Using the SS2 plan by Strong for Taffington Boathouse, there are two spots where my toon and the NPCs following me sink right through the floor into the water. First location is right at the front entrance to the house, second location is at the back entrance. Never had this happen before so not sure what's going on. Everything else looks great, and I have no Previs/Precombine packs installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I encountered this today as well. First visit to the house this play through and never encountered it in previous games. Super weird.

Edit: also discovered i can walk through walls upstairs...

Ok, this will need a deeper dive. I have also experienced this without a CP.
At first I just clipped in some floors then later just rolled back and added a overhaul mod.
I didn’t think much of it at the time.
I am at work so I can’t check right now, but I’ll want to see what FO4edit says with just SS mods installed and coc/TMM 1 to taffington to see if it still happens.
This needs a SS2 mods only check, otherwise unmodded and an xEdit confirmation.
I’ll look at it tonight.

Thank both of you for the report.

Ok, I can't replicate it on a clean save.

-clean start--up with SS2+ch2.

then I added some other mods that touch a lot of things "Pines, Clean, and such" still good.

I did check with fo4edit and added in anything that touched Taffington from my other save and still could not get the sinking.

My suggestion is to use Place Everywhere and just clip-in some floors or walls where the sinking occurs.

Sorry, :unknw

I had this happen too, falling through the floor as soon as you entered the house. Good to know it wasn't just me. I was using a City Plan and Clean My Settlement. Taffington was also the settlement that I had sent Stodge's group. The stranger thing is that it didn't start happening until after I had moved all but two settlers out to go to HQ and had "turned off" the CP (it was at level 3), which had to be at least 50 hours of gameplay since I had first set up that settlement.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm on a new playthru now and will see if it happens this time around. If the problem persists, I'll definitely try snapping in new floors -- didn't think of even attempting that last time around.

It's not a City Plan per se that is causing it. I don't have anything build there and have to wear a mankini.
The collision of that particular house element gets edit by ..... ? ( haven't found out that one yet )

I registered just to share my findings.

To start. I got no idea what mod causes the issue. Be it this mod or another we all used. However I found a way to fix the issue for me, which should help track down the cause.

So the culprit is the NIF files. For some reason the NIF files that consist of the building lost their collision and causes people to just clip trough.

To fix the problem I extracted the original NIF files from the Fallout4 - Meshes.ba2 file.

The ones that I replaced was:
Architecture\Buildings\HouseKit\HouseKGrndFrameA02.nif
Architecture\Buildings\HouseKit\HouseKGrndFrameA03.nif
Architecture\Buildings\HouseKit\HouseKGrndFrameA04.nif
Architecture\Buildings\HouseKit\HouseKUpprFrameA01.nif

Put them in my Override mod I use in Vortex to make sure they load last. No more swimming!

I had not built anything at Taffington yet when I discovered this. I was running after a bloodbug and next thing I know I was in the drink. That makes me doubt it is a problem with a building plan as I could not even access the workshop at that point. Exoclyps get the big cookie for the fix from me! Thanks!

I don't know how to extract files from the ba2. Any chance you can help a guy out and make a compressed file for me?

I didn't get an email notice about your post so two weeks later... sorry!

Bethesda Archive Extractor

So you know how in the future, here is the method. In this case, I know where the files you need are but generally speaking, all mehses will be in a "MODNAME - Meshes.Ba2" or "MODNAME - Main.ba2" file as long as the author follows convention. In our case, "Fallout 4 - Meshes.ba2" is located in the DATA folder of your Fallout 4 installation. (PATH)/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Fallout 4/Data where "path" is whatever drive or folder you install your steams games.
  1. With BAE open, just drag the file from explorer into BAE.
  2. Select None in BAE.
  3. In the search box of BAE, just paste the filenames from the post above by Exoclyps.
  4. Press extract on the bottom. I use Mod Organizer 2 so I extracted to the "overwrite" folder in my MO2 profile. I just copy the path for overwrite from explorer and paste it into the extract dialog to avoid typos. I do not know how to make an override in Vortex so I can't help you if that is the one you use. Overwrite/override is the last thing loaded so anything in it wins any conflicts. Any mod that broke Taffington's floors has just been overridden and fixed your floors.
If anyone can explain it better, please do. I am not good at writing howtos.

Partly on me as well, should have showed up as well.

Actually, I did some further research and have managed to track down the culprit. It's the mod "Flicker Fixer" that caused it for me.

Edit: Even further research and I've got it 100% pinned down. It was "Flicker Fixer" (who removed the collision from the meshes) in a combination with "Settlement Salvage Bot" (who removed the precombines) that caused this issue for me.
