Simple Settlement Sign Posts

I am in the process of putting together my first mod of basic, but hopefully attractive, signs of which some are hopefully humerous. These can be used without Sim Settlements but I was inspired by Sim Settlements when I came up with the idea and have already tested some ideas out with my settlements while using Sim Settlements. So far I have done such as safety, warning, settlement name, and even possibly humerous ones but I have much more to do. Unlike Sims Settlements generated signs these can be more easily, deliberately, chosen and placed to supplement those.

I would love any positive suggestions for signs.

Can we see some samples? :)

Street and highway signs maybe? Stop, yield, speed limit, exit or onramp signs with place names, distance to signs (like "Boston 374mi"), etc...

Security signs for settlement entrance and security buildings. Stop for Inspection, Keep all Weapons Holstered, No shooting guns in the air after sunset, Police, Security. A group of small signs with various laws, that could be put together on a larger billboard. Sort of a U.S. old west style that would hang or be posted at an entrance to the settlement.

A few styles of individual letters might be nice. Allowing a mod author to make their own sign from them.

This might not have a high demand, but possibly some gravestones and markers. Some crossed sticks, wood or stone gravestones with humorous sayings, some with various mementos on them or pictures.

Faction based signs. Controlled by the Brotherhood/Minuteman/Institute etc.. Various signs with the faction emblems. Synth's Welcome with a railroad emblem, No ghouls allowed with a Brotherhood emblem etc...

Thank for the positive feedback. Will take in all your suggestions and will most likely use them though maybe not in the first version of the mod. Please keep giving more suggestions. Will find somewhere to show some examples of signs already made. Perhaps here if there is a way.

you can upload screens shots here :) just hit upload file

No worries:)

I wud deffeintly use your settlement name ones:)

Like the responses! I have failed to point out that the signs are deliberately basic in design so that they are dominated by their surroundings so that if those conditions are rough, or clean, the signs do not go against that too much. The back story is that a new, loose, faction known as Artisans are arising along with something called the Commonwealths Settlements Movement. Some artisans have managed to create a work area and are making basic signs for settlers or just by personal commission. Having said this I am open to making changes. I must admit that as modding goes I am a noob for though I did texturing a long time ago it was with Fallout 3; of that I only have a few pictures left over. Advice is more than welcome or even assistance. I have other modding projects in mind as I increase my modding abilities, I am having a struggle trying to write a novel and I am doing two stories for an anthology that will be published so time is limited for me also.

Here are all my 'sign concepts' so far.

Below is a sign as generally suggested by tankthing, love the name, but with the 'damned' removed. Please tell me if you think it would be better with the removed word put back in place.

Love the last two! lol

Settlers: be advised that we are not here to wipe or kiss your ass. Complaints about this policy will result in you being reposted to the furthest reaches of the Commonwealth.

The General

Settlers are expected and required to carry weapons and aid in settlement defense.

One thing I've been wanting to do is create street signs for some of my more organized settlements such as Sanctuary, you know like Maple Lane or Riverside Walkway or things like that. Not sure if customizable (and relatively small) signs like this are possible or not but it'd be nice if it could be done.

And as a thought for your signs, perhaps the text could have a rougher feel to it...like someone used a paintbrush to make it or something. Give it that frontier feel.
