Setllement Size increases fast - Latest Workshop Framework update? Old-Gen v2.4.0

The settlement size usage have gone high wire and increases fast right now. I went from 400% to 700% after placing 9 plots. For each 3 plots I put, the settlement gets full and I increase it by 25%, add 3 more plots and it is filled again. I just added a few furniture's and it went up to:

The question is also, how far can I go until I get problems?

I also added one more mod yesterday, that I saw recommended in anther thread and it was Clean My Settlement REDUX. Both mods do make changes to the Settlement Size... :O I could uninstall the cleaning mod and see what happens really.

I added 3 plots and 32 chairs now, without the Redux mod, and the settlement size increased approx 100%, of total size that is. I have been able to add much more before I increased the size before the 3.3.3 update.

This increasing does not feel normal. From 931% to 1164%, 3 plots, 32 chairs. What I should focus at is plots only though, I guess. I be back later when I start a new settlement. I do guess it is the 3D polygons that gets counted, not the number of items, according to the "No Mods building series" at Youtube. Who know the number of polygon at those chairs anyway? ;)

I did add 20 greenhouse roof items, and the Size did not change much, but when I closed the Workshop UI and went in again, the Size was filled up to the limit, again, so as long I am in the workshop mood, I can add more stuff but as soon as I close it, the size meter reach the end and no more stuff can be added.

Post latest patch, I am also running into this issue with Settlement Limit being maxed after only a few plots being placed. Some calculations must be off.
Xbox Series X user.
Thanks!

PC player and i thought i was going crazy... After 5 plots i already reached the building limit with 200%... I knew something was off

I am using the Old-Gen version by the way

I haven't upgraded to new gen yet, but I have updated SS2 All Chapters Pack to 3.3.3 and Workshop Framework to 2.4.0, then installed Old-Gen Replacers, ran to a couple of my Settlements and add 4 plots to each of them, and did not see the issue you are reporting. My Settlements have had build limit increased by 300% which is usually what I do right off the bet when I start up a settlement.

Okey. I was in Warwick Homestead when this did happen and I was at 400% during the upgrade.

I plan to start a new settlement tonight or tomorrow as I am at my GF's flat until later this evening and we see what happens, but most likely tonight.

Another thought is of course a conflict. I should make a mod-list and add it here as I sure use a lot of mods. I will clean it out from pure weapons, armor, clothes and stuff like that as they only effect the crafting machines anyway. If it is a conflict, someone maybe will find which one is causing this problem. If you want a complete list, I can add that as well.

Sure, loadorder.txt/plugin.txt files or within the spoiler tags. Not saying I'll see what's a problem, but someone may.
Just to double check, you installed the Workshop Framework file and also the Old-Gen Replacer file after -- think you said you did that in a different post.

Yes I did. I am going through the plugins.txt right now, 300 rows, to see what I really need or not as well as I might also test a new game, go straight to Warwick Homestead and edit it, but before I do that I will test a new settlement that I have not touched yet. I do suspect a new play-through might be the most proper way to go really and I do not mind doing that - again. ;)

I will start a new game, now when I know how Clean My Settlement REDUX was made as it is in their forum here and that was not what i had expected as it is also impossible to uninstall it from a current play-through and I have no save games prev this one. So here is info about how it was made. Brilliant in one way but not the way I like it to be done really.

What it does is make the regular bushes/vines/leaves invisible. That is something that has been done by several other mods.

It then places a duplicate for every single bush/vine/pile of leaves across the Commonwealth, Far Harbour, and Nuka World. These duplicates are scrappable.

The net result is being able to scrap these specific things, without the entire worldspace looking empty. Basically you get to see the world as unchanged as possible (a few things disappear, due to the way Bethesda did it in making the game - small tradeoff for having cleaner settlements).

A nice side-benefit is being able to scrap things across the world, as I showed with three custom settlements: Boston Common, Breakheart Banks, and Mystic Pines. Mobile workshops can be dropped as normal and will allow clearing. You can use Place Everywhere and go scrap bushes etc outside your settlement boundaries to allow you better view of the surrounds.

Mod authors will only need to break precombines if they really want to allow trees etc to be scrapped in their custom settlement.

The reason I do mention this mod, is that I installed it at the same time I upgraded SS2 and Workshop Framework. I do not want stuff invisible as if I want it removed, I really want it removed completely, and not remove an immersive copy of the scrap and I remove unpleasant scrap already with CK for myself + rebuild the combines and visibles recombined in my own esp, so I get stuff exactly as I want it. There are already a lot of mods that cleans settlements, but I want to do it myself anyway.

My issue is on a new game, never had this prior to the latest patch. So I am on the most current version of Workshop framework and SS2 - only using chapters 1 and 2, not enough room for 3.

I looked through the changes made in both WSFW and SS2 and I found nothing that would cause this issue.

Have you added/updated any other mods recently?

@msalaba
I did. If you look up a bit to this post.

If I am also correct, you also use that mod and I am sure you wanna know how it actually works, as the way it does, was not what I had expected.

If it happens to a new game, I will roll back SS2 and WF to the version that did work for me. I am cleaning my mod-list now from mods I have no use off as this is a good opportunity to do so as I need a new game anyway.

I've been playing with next gen version no problem. This issue didn't start for me until i downloaded the new patch for Workshop Framework

I revert anyway as now it is 3 that have this issue and 1 with a new game. If this bug or conflict will be found later, then I upgrade.

I found my solution. I dug around the comments on nexus and Kinggath says WF has to load after the UFO4P.

That was my problem. I went to Vortex and manually made sure it loaded after UFO4P and then i went to Starlight to test it

I placed about 20 plots down with no problem and the building limit is back to normal for me

I have WF loaded after UFO4P and still have this issue. Something changed with the patch that is miscalculating the settlement size.

I've never done this.. Is it safe to revert back to the last version of ss2 and workshop framework on my current save?
Building settlements is broken for me with this new WF patch, i can't even build enough plots to get a settlement going

Well try and see what happens really, as you cannot have it like it is now for sure. You do have a current save so keep it and then try it for a day to start with. I could have done the same but I sure needed to clean my modlist and got rid of 45 mods I guess that I feel I do not need.

No. If you want to roll back to a previous version you must load a save from before the upgrade to WSFW 2.4.0 / SS2 v3.3.3.
