Question Scripting for assaults gone bad....

So when I go to assault anywhere my scripting for it is out of order.

I select the target then it pauses then the quest starts then later is asks who to assign. When I reach the location the people aint there.

I think it started doing this after I noticed a bunch of my attackers just stood there and did not engage.

Had this type of problem in my Games 4 and 5. Here is a thread with suggestions from @Rudy https://simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/cant-launch-assaults-anymore.11983/page-2
Hopefully this will be helpful.
Yeah not exactly the same thing. My issue is more like the quest stage order go broken and reversed somehow.

Usually it goes pick location then pick attackers then a delay and the quest starts.. Mine is going pick location, quest start, pick attackers.

As I previously sad, I think I broke it somehow when I took Abernathy without doing the stage of meting the gathered forces.

I have started assaults and run in guns blazing before meeting the troops. The quest usually completes the "meet the troops" step as soon as the settlement aggros on me. Maybe somehow it didn't do that for you? I can imagine there being consequences if the "meet your troops" step failed to auto-complete.

That is the way it normally works for me. However I think I was too far away since I came up the south side of Abernathy and the troops were gathered at the trailer north of the Abernathy Farm. It was not until after I realized my troops never attacked.
