Background - I’ve started 2 Liberator playthroughs. During the shower scene, I configured it so random settlements were created (1st at varying levels of dev; 2nd time at beginning level of dev). In both instances, when i went about my business, I came across occupied settlements. So far, none subjugated. They’re too trusting for my taste.
The Abernathy couple are rightly skeptical of visitors, but the settled farm isn’t. They lost their daughter... a guard (or civilian(s)) should say ‘halt, who goes there’ or something like that. For all they know, I’m a Raider (etc). Instead I walked right up, swiped all their crops from ag plots (not flagged as steal). Pitched a tent/sleeping bag in survival mode without asking permission.
Enhancement request - when you approach the boundary of a non-aligned (neutral) settlement, there should be some sort of screening check. Not as grand as Covenant but something.
And, ideally, as you transgress against some (even as a ‘liberator’), your rep spreads and the interaction is adjusted [eg buy your passage in if you’ve been a little naughty (stole things) or immediately shot at if you’ve been bad (wiped out a non-aligned settlement)]
